Hi,

I got problem with non-working cigarette outlets (all three are not working) in my Murano 2005. I checked the inside fuse box (under steering wheel) but the fuse is okay. Can anyone please let me what should I check next? I need it for GPS unit I just bought for my wife.

Regards,Adam

Try using them while the vehicle is turned on. They won't work while it's turned off.

In case you didn't use one......Make sure you check the fuse with a continuity tester. You can't always tell a fuse is bad just by visual inspection.

It is easy to tell if a fuse is bad. How ever did verify as you suggested and they were both good, and problem persists.

The fuses are good and the outlets that both use to work now both spontaneously do not work.

I am not the only Murano owner that has this problem, but more and more spantaneous failure are occuring and being discussed. It is concerning. Have you all heard of this, and is there a viable solution. Although many no longer smoke most of us use these outlets as a charger station for our cell phones as we travel.

Please advise

I also have a 2005 nissan murano se awd - purchased it used in 2008. The entire lighter unit under the glove box had popped out by the time I drove the car home. Took it in the next day and they supposedly fixed it. Took it in again for same problem three times since then. Never use it because it pops out every time I plug something into it and pull it out. Cousin borrowed it last October and she said it didn't work even after they popped it back in. It's in the shop now because of an engine oil leak, a transmission leak, a noise in the cabin that has been determined to be a defective part related to the fuel injection system, and the cigarette lighter (still). I have not ever used the unit in the back but I'll give it a try. I always use the one in the console b/t the front seats. They service guy told me today that it's most likely not to work after it's popped out as the connections will be off - surprise, surprise. Does yours also pop out of the dash?I do, however, love my murano!!

I have a 2004 and mine has popped out only once. I popped it back in and since have not had any problems and it is used often, mainly for the Garmin. Good luck getting it fixed.
