I bought a usb car charger for my car where it can be plugged in to the cigarette lighter port. I plugged it in but my phone does not charger. There is light coming from the charger but does not charge the phone. I swapped cables and used another car charger and getting same results, there's light on the charger but does not charge. I tried the usb cables with my wall charger and they work perfectly. Any ideas, could it be a bad charging port or fuse blown?

I reckon if the USB adapter lights up, the fuse is not blown and the charger is getting power. No idea why the phone is not accepting the charge. As long as the engine is running, the adapter should be working. Maybe one of our tech-savy members will chime in with ideas.

Thanks, I even tried the outlet in the center console arm and the charger lights up but does not charge the phone. :(

I use my wife's Apple USB cigerette port charger in my M on a Motorola cell phone. She is looking all over for it!

One very good possibility for your problem is the phone you have may be rejecting the charge because the voltage coming through is not in specs with the phone charge voltage requirements. In other words, your cigarette lighter usb device is getting an approximate 15v input from the car, but what voltage is it sending up to the phone? The device itself might not be in charging specs with the phone you are using.

Update - after restarting the phone it started to charge on both outlets. It was a glitch with the mobile device. :)
