**Disclaimer - this is not a rant against CIP Motorsports, aka 240Motoring. In no way are these companies connected. I don't want a bad impression to get stuck on one of our vendors**

I ordered a set of rod and main bearings from this company along with a set of wiseco pistons. It took them nearly a week to send out my bearings and turned out half the rod bearings I received were damaged. This all started the whole deal. After another 5 days of emailing and calling, I finally heard back and had someone tell me "Sure, go ahead and send those bearings back and we'll send you out another set." So I'm thinking great, where are my pistons? That part comes later in the story. Anyways, I never heard back from them about anything specific to do for them to take care of my return (as far as whether or not I am responsible for paying shipping to get it back to them or anything i'm supposed to write on the package). I also found that the pistons were on backorder till the 19th. I called another company and they said they wouldn't get them till the same day, but they have them about $50 cheaper. I asked CI Motorsports to cancel this order in the email asking them about my return of the bearings.

Another week has gone by and I haven't heard anything from them. They won't return my phone calls, and I have sent them messages to their AIM screenname with no response either. I usually don't resort to sending nasty emails/leaving nasty voicemails but I sent them an email this morning expressing my displeasure with the company.

I can take a $40 loss with my bearings, but I'm worried about the $460 on my pistons. Since I have not received my pistons yet, what can I do? I paid with a Visa credit card, and my bill came today - they already charged me for the pistons and I'm not sure what I should do. I paid the whole balance except for the pistons (i always pay my bill off every month) but I'm afraid I'll get charged interest even if I do get my money back. If it takes another billing period to get this straightened out, that's another $40 I lose. I'm going to call my credit card tomorrow and see if they can do a stop payment or anything like that, since they haven't even been shipped.

I really want to spread the word on the internet about this company, at least this forum. Is there any way we can make this a sticky somewhere? Their customer support and service is awful and I want to make it known that I have "taken one for the team" and that no one else should give this company a dime's worth of business.

Here are some of the bearings they sent me:

At first, they didn't take responsibility. They told me I needed to contact Fedex because the package was insured. I told them fedex was not responsible because the box itself was in good shape; the contents were not packaged correctly.

Spread the word folks. Perhaps give me some advice about what I should do about the hundreds of dollars I currently have tied up in this company.

they were clevite bearings. they were put in the boxes with nothing separating them but a sheet of paper (each box was a pair). the piece of paper slid out of the way so it caused the bearing in the boxes to scratch themselves.

but seriously, I want this word everywhere. I want to get on every car forum and post this. If there is a way to have this show up in each subsection of this forum, it'd be nice.

Well, from what I've delt with online backorders they are supposed to tell you and not charge your credit card untill your order has been shipped to you. I've not delt with this company but that sounds a bit shady

Damn thats crazy, ive boughten from CI Motorsports quite a few times and they have always been good. This is the company also reffered to as 240sx Motoring correct??? If so, I ordered a set of toe links for my 350z and we had a communication problem with the name, apparently Cusco calls them Toe Links and Circuit Sports had them under traction Rods, either way they sent out my new ones real quick. I hope everything goes well for you bro.

"technically" it was a custom order, according to them. like I said i'm calling my CC company tomorrow and see if they can do a stop payment on the charge and let them handle the dispute with cimotorsports.

wanta, i don't think they go by that name, at least not anymore. they aren't specifically 240sx stuff but they carry for all sorts of cars.

looks like i should have checked reseller ratings first....http://www.resellerratings.com...ports

anyone live near coral PA and want to kick someone's door in? :P

240sxmotoring = CIP Motorsports. These guys are a NICO sponsor and I have heard nothing but good things about them

CI Motorsports is a totally different shop. I haven't heard a thing about this company until I read this thread.

OP- good luck with this issue. Keep us posted on your progress. Shops shouldn't get away with poor service especially with this economic climate. Reputable shops are having a tough time keeping the doors open without places like this one scamming folks.

i just canceled my card and disputed the charge, so it's out of my hands now. i guess i'm stuck without the rod bearings, i guess a $40 loss is better than $463.

is CI seriously a sponsor for this site? eek

Wow my Clevite bearings didn't come to me like that. They were all shrinked wrapped and stacked ontop of one another. Also CI Motorsports is in no way associated with 240sxmotoring. Please do not give 240sxmotoring a bad reputation. Atleast you got the situation handeled.

big difference between the two. CIP motorsports (the parent company of 240sxmotoring) is a sponsor of nico and an excellent company to deal with. they are out of ct. CI motorsports is not a sponsor and they are out of pa.

this is the email i received this morning after speaking with shawn over the phone yesterday afternoon. the damaged bearings got there over a week ago, last tuesday, and whoever i spoke with that afternoon said they'd ship out tomorrow (wednesday the 24th).

after waiting till yesterday with no package arriving and no response after i asked what my tracking number was, i decided to give them a call. as far as he kew, the replacement bearings hadn't been shipped out and he'd call me this morning. he never called me, but i got this message instead:
Rod bearings have been refunded, as well as that Wiseco piston set from the previous order. After reviewing your post on Nico club it seems this is the best service we could give at this point. I apologize for the lack of customer support on our end previously, wish there was something more I could offer but I dont think you would be willing to work with us at this point anyways.
i still offered my business, and told him explicitly over the phone that all i wanted was for him to ship out those replacement bearings. so, after nearly a month, i stilll don't have a replacement set of bearings. about 2 weeks ago, he said he had refunded the set of pistons i ordered, but i just now received an email saying this.

anyways, i went ahead and ordered a set of rod bearings from MAPerformance, a company who actually answers their phones and has even better prices. i guess i won out both ways but wasted a stupid amount of time.

so shawn, if you decide to check up on this thread, here goes out a big "KISS MY NUTS" to you. i plan on hitting up every single car enthusiast forum for every make of every part you carry and make SURE they know how horrible of a company you are.

GL and HF.

Wow, glad to know im not the only one with a terrible experience with them. A couple months ago i thought id order some main bearings from them because they were close to me. About 2 weeks into the order, i finally got in contact with them and they said they were going to drop ship them to me. Week after week goes by with me trying to get in contact with them, and not having any parts really started to piss me off. They never once picked up the phone, answered an email, or answered the live help thing they have. Finally, almost 6 weeks after i placed the order, they refunded my card with no explanation what so ever. I tried to get in contact with them to voice my disgust (which i never ever do), and still couldnt. Needless to say, i was pretty mad, and would highly discouraged anyone from visiting that website, let alone buying something from them.

They worst part is they send me an email every couple days with their latest specials and i cannot unsubscribe from mailing list.

It's odd to see bearings shipped out of shrink wrap. I have never received a set of bearings that were out of shrink wrap, and I've ordered/installed quite a few sets of bearings over the years. The only time I see bearings not wrapped are when I order from Nissan. And that's only because you have to order them in grades. Each set is boxed individually through them and secured so they don't shift and scratch.

I recommend finding a good shop locally/semi-locally that you can buy from. In my old town, I used a parts store that was part of the Federated Auto Suppliers chain. I get ACL through them and have always had good luck.
