And now he is saying that he is buying a 95 talon tsi with stage 2 turbo and he wants to race me when my car is done, which is a 95 s14.5 with black top pushing 300hp. He said the stage 2 on the talon should be pushing 450hp.

You should have made mention the fact that Talon=Eclipse=JAPAFRICKINESE!Or the fact that of ALL the japanese ricemobiles to buy, you can't get much more effeminate OR craptastic than a damn second gen Talon.

DSMs have got to be the most riced platform out there...

He sounds like one of those guys that says something dumb then tries to make up for it by saying something even dumber - like the kid who argued with me trying to say Eclipses are sold in Japan then changed to conversation to his stage 4 turbo Integra.

On another forum (not car related) someone made a thread that said something like "here's some rice for you guys" and posted pics of a beautiful R32. He then said he thought rice was any foreign car.

It's a good bet that Sebring has a Mitsubishi built engine with engine cover stamped Chrysler. Who's the "ricer poseur" now?

95-00 Sebring Coupe: A stretched Eclipse with the same dashboard, drivetrain, gauges, and all -- made in Normal IL. Its corporate sibling is the Dodge Avenger. The factory was created as a Chrysler-Mitsu joint venture (DSM) but Mitsubishi ended up buying it, so the car is built under Mitsubishi management with American workers and almost entirely American parts. The V6 is a Japanese engine, the I4 is American. Call it what you will.

96-00 Sebring Convertible: A Chrysler J-platform sedan (think Cirrus, Breeze, etc) converted into a convertible and sold in Europe, Canada, and the US with a Mitsubishi 2.5L V6; the same engine comes turbocharged in Mexico and a few select markets. The 2.4L I4, which was dropped pretty early on, is American. The Sebring is not a DSM car and is built under Chrysler management by UAW workers.

The I4 is not available in the 2000 Sebring he drives (coupe or convertible), so he has a very Japanese Mitsubishi V6.

So.. if he drove a 4-cyl Sebring coupe or convertible and called you a ricer, he would not be entirely hypocritical for driving a "Japanese" car since the Eclipse itself is pretty much entirely American, and the J-platform is purely American.

But since its a 2000 and no 4-cylinder option was available by then, he has the Japanese V6, and hes a stupid h0m0.

Hes about as gay as ricers who think their Civic with CAI and 'REEEEEEMZZZZ' will outrun a Northstar Cadillac, or every Camaro owner who thinks the Nissan badge automatically implies "stupid ricer." I find myself defending a lot of nationalities, makes, and models on the forums I frequent, and it gets tiring. Retards a-plenty in this world.

Yeah, really.... aren't a lot of Chrysler's running around with Mitsubishi-blue-print engines? (like Hyundai?)

The reason most non nissan people talk about stages is because thats how you buy the kits...in stages, each stage equalling a higher HP output. stage 1 turbo is nothing more than a factory turbo with a slightly larger impeller insade, most stage 1 turbo kits come with larger FMIC. A stage 2 turbo kit is a larger turbo, in Mitsubishi terms a 2nd Gen Eclipse has a 14b and the 1st gen has the 16g (or is the other way around) so basically when you get a Stage 2 turbo you have upgraded to a larger turbo. Still streetable but you can actually be somewhat competitive on the track as well. Stage 3 is street strip application and stage 4 is a full race setup. While it does sound gay and you automatically think of Gran turismo, that is how they sell the kits at most shops. Turbos and Clutches are usually the only things broken down into stages, but the you can get engine buildups in stages to depending n the application you going for.

As far as the I4 found in the sebring its the same 2.4L found in the PT Cruiser and Neon, the turbo versions are in the GT Cruiser and the SRT4. Either way the Mitsubishi equivalant (4G64) found in Galants and 3rd Gen Eclipse's make more power and torque and are way more reliable.

I realize I'm going to get flamed for this, but if you turbo a KA block and turbo a 4G64 block you will make roughly the same amount of power and if you raced a turbo'd KA Maxima against a turbo'd 7th or 8th gen Galant you would have a very tight race.

As far as the tard who called your car rice, the fact that he wants to buy a 2G Talon with a stage 2 turbo... all I have to say is that a stage 2 will only make 450HP if the block has been modified and the cams are done, if he said a stage 3 turbo then yeah thats believable because that's basically a 18G turbo with internal wastegates a full race FMIC and 600cc fuel capacity. All I can say is that I hope the 2G head was swapped for a 1G head because otherwise he's in for a big surprise.

I happen to like DSM's almost as much as Nissan's...could be worse I could be gaga for Honda.
