If anybody wants OEM Chrome wheels just like AzHitmans, then here is a set on Ebay which are very rare.

These are a very special model that are 18x8 vs. 18x7.5 and are OEM....not replicas. The auction is over with...but no bids so maybe a potential good deal for somebody.

WOW!!!

Those are HOT!

Actually, they're a *little* different from mine, as they have one less spoke, and are a tad wider.

Yes, curiousity got the better of me (after hearing from Brian and Rob and Wes that the 03-04 Premium rims are 7.5" wide, I pulled one and checked - they are indeed 7.5", I was bamboozled by the seller).

Those are sweet as hell - I like them better than mine.

I don't think those will work as they are actually FX rims, I've recently seen both G35 & Q45 rims. As nice as those are the price is just TOO high. The one guy even wants an extra $100 after the auction for the matching logo'd center caps.

Mine are SUPER close to the strut, so close that the little rubber "nipples" on the inside edge of the tire have "cleaned" a tiny strip on the strut tube as they flick by.

These are 35mm offset vs 40 mm means they'll be 5 mm more "sunken in" which MAY bring them too close to the strut. They'll be a half-inch (12mm) wider, so they'll sit a little (roughly 7mm or 1/4") to the fender edge (which would be PERFECT, IMO).

Uh, Greg, sorry to have to correct you, but 35mm offset will actually be further away from the strut than a 40mm offset, and will be safer for a 18x8 wheel on a Q45.

This is a confusing issue always, I know! the measurement of the offset is a negative number (for these wheels.) So a small number means that the centerline of the wheel is closer to the "flat" surface that rests on the hub. So, since the hub does not move in relation to the strut, the centerline is further "out". Hence it will be further from the strut.

According to the http://www.infiniti.com web site, the 2004 Premium wheels are 18 x 8. The following is an extract from here:

Quote »Q45 8-spoke, 7.5 x 17-inch alloy wheels with 225/55R17 V-rated all-season tires

Q45 Run-flat Option 8-spoke, 7.5 x 17-inch alloy wheels with run-flat 225/55R17 Vrated all-season tires

Premium Package 7-spoke, 8.0 x 18-inch alloy wheels with 245/45R18 V-rated all-season tires

Premium Package with chrome-finished wheels 8-spoke, 7.5 x 18-inch chrome-finished alloy wheels with 245/45R18 V-rated all-season tires[/quote]I.e., it is only the chrome-finish wheels that are 18x7.5" wide.

LOL - One would have THOUGHT with all my recent dealings with 240sx wheels that I'd be an expert on offsets by now.

So they MAY wind up TOO CLOSE to the fender lip.

Haha, y'know, I actually considered doing them when i did my 240 - I just didn't get around to it, and it was just as well - I had planned to add a 6mm spacer, BUT, the OEm lugs are too short.

And I just dropped WAY more than I should have on 60mm Nismo wheel studs for the 240, so....

Those would look good on my maxima. I may have to get rid of the 2001 maxima SE rims.

That is indeed possible - depending on the rim size, or if the offset is too small a value - and might also cause problems if you have lowering springs!

As you and Rex also noted, rolling the fender is an option in this case. I seem to recall an M45 to which this had been done ... posted pictures I think!

The Q fenders do NOT lend themselves to an easy rolling.

The differece is the Q fenderwells have some complex angles, whereas the 240 fenders are a simple 90-degree bend, which is easily rolled to a 180-degree.

Interesting! I had not thought about that. I guess the M has similar easier-to-roll fenders - at least, based on that post a while back!

Thanks,
