So I've seen these chrome pillars on doors. I know many people who put them on VERY ghetto cars and trucks.

But our M's have a quite a bit of chrome accents. On the door handles, and all of the trim around the glass. My M has the chrome 19" sport rims as well.

Here is a picture of a white one with them. I know they would look better on a darker color such as mine.

Just wondering what everyones thoughts were.

No Chrome pillars. I think it takes away from the cars true lines. I like the factory look as it is.

Where in Tampa are you? I have seen a twilight blue cross my path here locally.

I am not a fan of the chrome, but here are some shots of it on a black M to give you an idea....

Lawman,

Thans for the pics. That helped.

I see what Huy is saying now. It does take away form the aerodynamic look of the windows.

Huy, I live in Apollo Beach, and work in Plant City. So I spend a bit of time in the Brandon area.

Nice choice color combo. I love the Bourbon interior.

Okay. But you did not vote for them though? The count for "Chrome Pillars" is still at zero (as of now).

Yeah, I'm pretty shocked to see that there were 114 views but only eight votes. You know everyone has an opinion either way.

Some of the views are repeats from the same person checking the poll again. But, yeah, still way less votes.

Oops, never even noticed the poll - but I've voted now.

My personal opinion is "no", but if you like 'em (and you've got chrome wheels), go for the uber-bling. But me, I love the look of your black pillars with the tinted windows. Looks long, low, and fast.

The most chrome i like is maybe a little accenting on the windows on the M, but other than that I'm not a huge chrome fan. It's not really noticeable on the White car though, I vote NO.

Definitely no. The chrome totally throws off the look of the greenhouse. They're black for a reason: so they'll blend with the glass. If you make them chrome it destroys that and they look like exactly what they are: extra chrome stuck on that doesn't belong there. Especially the one on the back of the rear door looks horrible. And it would look even worse on a dark car, where the effects of both black and chrome are accentuated.

I'd say no on a dark-colored car like yours. on the white--maybe.

Amzaing to see how many people siad no. Appreciate the pics of the Black JP one. It does birng more attention to the center of the car rather the entire vehicle.

yosM45, did you end up going with the chrome pillars? If so, can you post some photos?

Nope. I left it alone. It looks just as good with the black pillars, and black tints.

I'm still 50/50 on it, so not enough to justify buying them.

If I pulled up next to an M at a stoplight with those chrome pillars I would fully expect to see a young black man driving who makes his money by pimping women and/or selling crack cocaine.

If that is the look you are going for. Than by all means put them on your car.

Hey just being honest. The original post referred to "ghetto" looking. What do you suppose he meant by that?

If they are driving a car like an M45 in the ghetto that is my stereotype. Hey, if I pull up next to a Buick I expect I will see old people and if I pull up to a tricked out Honda I expect to see an Asian.

If you see a tricked out Caddy with window chrome, curb feelers, big bling rims, etc. do you expect me to think you suspect the driver to be some 73 old white guy named Herb?

To answer some questions....

(Bob24) What i meant by ghetto was that there are cars, that have no business having chrome trim added. Like this car here..http://i56.photobucket.com/alb...2.jpgThe car had no other chrome trim any where and the articulate owner wanted to accent the car.

Our cars, the M's, on a different note have quite a bit of OEM chrome. All around the windows, the handles, and on the 08's, down the side panel. Adding chrome to our cars doesn't necessarily make it ghetto. Some of us believe that we are just accentuating what already there.

A perfect example http://www.lextasy.com/images_...6.jpg

(rhscanman) Yes, they are the OEM sport 19", chromed. You can find similar ones on ebay. I got mine form the dealership for $650.

(93coupe) Thank you. I was dead set that I wanted a white or black, and then I saw the twilight blue. Fell in love with it. It's a pretty rare color here in FL.

I am not being self righteous. I am expressing my opinion that you are the stupidest retard on here.

I think it is ridiculous that a 36 year old man automatically thinks that a black male with a nice car with chrome accents got it by selling drugs and pimping women.

It is unreal how many ignorant people there are in the world. Freaking idiot.
