I personally don't care for chrome, but can't argue with the durability and finish when it's done well.
Make sure you choose a quality shop. You might consider a full dip as well. Many people choose a face dip. Done right it can last for some time, but over time. moisture inside the tire can start corroding the plating. Particularly underneath the plating where it can lift the plating and eventually make a small channel for air to leak out of the tires. You might want to do some research yourself on this as my info is only from memory and it's been a while since I read about this issue.
You mght consider having the wheels highly polished as well. Won't have the same brilliance as chrome, but can still have a very smooth shiny surface. If you do this, make sure you get it clearcoated. Bare aluminum can start looking like crap over time.
