well i asked my friend today who owns a talon and he says that a 2.5 is better for the sr20 (because it's got such a small turbo) plus the fact that if i put a 3 inch on there and start adding the bolt ons the motor will start to have boost leak because of the lack of air going to the wastegate....opinions please???

Your friend understands nothing about SR's.

Run a 3" downpipe.

Lack of air going to the wastegate = boost spike. Which will not happen.

Get a 3 inch down pipe with a flex joint it will prevent cracking. And please dont listen to any DSM guys they dont know much about nissans LOL! When in doubt ask the guys on Nico we have all gone through it all and know everything first hand.

I'm looking for a good Down/Front Pipe, but I can't seem to find a good one that has a Flex pipe already applied. I'm gonna install a manifold at the same time so I know its a good investment. Know anyone that carries a downpipe with a Flex sections? I notice Apexi (GT) might have it but it may just have been a generic picture displayed. thnx

Of all the downpipes I've seen, I've never seen one with a flex pipe. Commercial 3" pipes like Greddy, Blitz and custom made ones that shops sell all are without the flex section. It would be much easier to replace your cat with a flex pipe, if you don't worry about emissions.
