I bought a rebuilt sr t25 it made it 2200 miles. I am going to give the engine one more try. I am wanting to get new garrett turbo but can't find a t25 for sale. Will a BBT28 work with stock everything? I am going to get a FMIC because the stocker is full of compressor fan filings. I also have a walbro pump and a free flowing exhaust (3in down pipe). I have a "boost up" Mine's ecu that I can run. I am going to run not more than 9lbs of boost.

I plan on driving this car daily for 60 mile round trip to work. It just sees highway driving. I have been riding the 07 Kawi Ninja 1000 since late September so I am not sure why I am worried about it now that most of the cold stuff is past. Any advise would be great. And if anybody knows of a garrett or HKS dealer would be helpful as well.

try http://www.cheapturbos.com they have t28s from GTiR's and s14/15s

i think if you get a BBT28 you need to get a restricter in the oil send line. might as well upgrade your turbo lines while you're at it.

So I should be pretty safe running a larger turbo with my set up as long as I go with stock boost.

I found this one that looks pretty good to me because I'm not going to for much more than stock anyway. http://www.atpturbo.com/Mercha...e=GRT

Or should I go for a GT28R(S) and put less strain on the turbo? I would prefer boost at a lower RPM because I live in rolling hills that can kick a 4cyl's arss I figure if it is already making boost the hills will be less noticable.

I ran an S14 for 7 years on a bone stock CA18 with no oil restrictor, no problems and it was quicker to spool than the stock turbo. You will be fine. Buy a new one though, used turbos are a needless gamble.

I plan on getting a new one. I really want to see this motor work and I get burnt on a used turbo already.

IIRC earlier S14 turbos werent BB so using the CA's block restrictor was fine. When I had my S15 BB turbo I only used the blocks restrictor and oil passed the seals from the excess pressure. Once switching to a proper restrictor the oil passing the seals went away.

Cool, thanks for the info. Since it is understood that I am going for basicly stock hp would a gt25r turbo work for me. It is advertised to produce up 240-250 hp. Would this work or should I go for the gt28r and give up the early boost for less strain on the turbo?

umm your not giving up anything? The GT28R starts building boost at 2200rpms. The only your giving up is some top end power as it drop off from the small turbine.

Go with the GT28R most likely same price as the GT25R but the 28 bolts up with no problems.

What is the proper restictor? Thank you everybody for the help. One more question in researching the gt28r I have read about adapters. Can I use the outlet(that is held on by 2 bolts on the compressor housing)that my piping mounts to off my sr t25 and be fine. I hope you can figure out what I am talking about.
