What should one look for or avoid when choosing a shop and dyno?

With a standard KA-T setup and an Emanage, how much time and money should one plan to spend on average?

Tips, recommendations, things to do before you go and things to take with you? i.e. extra plugs, tools...

Is it better to find guys who have a lot of experience with imports?

Is it better to do the tune your self or let them do it?

Does the type of dyno matter?

Obviously, a wideband is necessary.

1. a good rep. check local car forums

2. 2-3hrs @ $75-125/hr

3. race gas

4. expericence with aftermarket boost at least. and one who has a good understanding of maf systems (or map, if youre buying the pressure sensor) to cut down on tuning time. import experience is a plus, and you'll probably get more respect than from a domestic guy anyways...

5. imo, them for your first, then after you have a better understanding you can go back and modify it yourself

6. eddy current for consistency. it will read lower than a dynojet though

7. dont need it if youre having the shop tune it. any shop with a dyno should have a wb
