Hey all, First time poster happy to be here.So I just did a tuneup on my truck, just bought it about a month ago..Dist. cap and rotor, spark plugs/wires, air filter, vac lines, oil changedrove it fine for about 30 miles and now it seems to be acting very strangely. If I step on the throttle more than half way in any gear the engine seems to trip over itself, it makes a "chug chug chug" sound and jerks forward and back... Doesn't sound like I'm getting any fire or the engine is flooding or something. My nextdoor neighbor said I might need to adjust the choke?Any ideas?

it could be the choke... but it seems like something else might be wrong in the fuel system causing what sounds from the description to most likely be flooding

now what is causing it the hard part... maybe a misplaced vac line when you replaced them or something?

try the choke as well... its hard to tell at this point exactly what it is for sure

My 86 used to do that before I changed the distributor and rotor. Since you already changed that I don't know what else it could be

Inemberclad, does your truck have an altitude compensator? Does it need one?

Really sounds like a flooding problem. If you accelerate slowly does it still chug?
