Choice between CV boot and CV axle replacement in 1997 Nissan maxima

If only the boot is damaged is it worth while from ease of installation view to replace the whole CV axle? On the driver side which is easy to replace , the boots with new grease etc or the complete axle assembly?

I usually suggest replacing the entire assembly. It's not that difficult but if you've never done it before it may take some time.
