Okay so currently in my s13 I have a chipped ecu and it runs perfect and I just got a s14 and its not a obdI so I have one of the following options:

1.get obdI ecu and chip it.2.get a harness and use the s13 ecu on the s143.get emanage ultimate and use that.

The easiest method is getting the conversion harness and using the s13 ecu on the s14 but then the problem will be that i cant boost past 8psi since that is what it was tuned for and tuning wont be easy because on the s13 I used the consult port and a wideband to tune it and I dont know if I can do the same on a s14(if someone can clear this up that would be sweet ).

the other 2 methods(1&3) are not too bad but I'd have to start from scratch.

just wanted to know peoples opinion on this or if anyone used the other options I mentioned chime in and tell me what they think.

Thanks.

its a pita to do stepdowns IMHO, trust I have one thats a ***** to tune, sometimes...

... a buddy of mine has the emanage and loves it, upping the boost takes less work to retune too, same as a m/s setup I assume. I'm thinking abo a m/s setup myself, just to clean up the engine bay and ditch the stupid afm.

Give me a couple of days and I'll let you know about the s14 ecu.....retuning the s13 ecu won't be a problem if you want to go that way.

What do you mean you can't boost past 8psi? Tuned ecu's will compensate for additional airflow and add fuel and adjust timing accordingly.

When you ask Enthalpy to tune your ECU, you tell him your setup. He doesn't really tune for what PSI you're aiming at.

I've used my Enthalpy tuned ecu from 7psi up to 18psi, AFR's are fine.

THX Bernard, hopefully we can find a way to get the s14 ecu modded so I dont have to do use the s13 one :D. I'd rather not get the harness to use a s13 ecu on the s14.

well we tuned for 7.5psi but I know for a fact it can do 10psi as well, I guess I just didnt want to be one of the people who ended up with a blown motor cause of leaning out. Iam pretty sure it can take more but I never pushed it yet

Iv used my Enthalpy up to 1.6 bar spikes with no problems from it.

All your doing is tuning for a volume of air. With a MAF sensor, especially the 300zx unit, it can measure a lot of incoming air, up to 500+ hps worth.

Pretty much any tuner will fill the whole fuel/ignition map out to the max of the MAF sensor. This doesnt mean they did it right, or you wont blow your motor however.

OP - If you really want to get into it go with MS2, just make sure this car isnt your only mode of transportation. You can get the MS2 for like 300 bucks now and its full fuel and timing control. If you already know the basics of tuning this thing will be a blast for you.

However you will need to have lots of patience to get it wired up and running right, if you want an easy rout thats not the way to go.

Personally i think the best all around deal right now is getting a pre tuned ECU like enthalpy. You plug it in, and you drive/boost your car.

EDIT - Oh i see you are the tuner behind the chipped ECU. Normally when were talking about a chipped ECU were thinking about one tuned by Enthalpy, E-Mance, JWT, whatever.

The problem with the s14 ECU is that it has an early version of a standard computor processor. It makes it a nightmear to try to do anything with that. Your much better off just getting a harness out of an s13 and being done with it.

Thanks alot for yor feedback makes my decision alot easier :D. seems I'll just use the s13 ecu and get the conversion harness and save my self the hassel.
