When removing my crank pulley I chipped it a couple times around the outer most lip in the very back, small chips, 3/4 of an inch long maximum. I've heard bad things about out of balance cranks/ca's/rod bearings and wondering what my best bet is? I called a machine shop, they said not worth it just get new one, they said call a performance shop and that shop told me its ok if there just chips on the outer ring. I really wanted to get my ca in this weekend, what do you suggest i do? I'll have pics up later

I'm not sure what formula to do, but say 1 oz at a 6" pulley would weigh alot at 6500 rpm.. That's 108 times a second...

Anyone want to chime in for some formulas?

Mine is chipped as are quite a few other peoples on here. I haven't had any problems with it, and neither has anyone else that I've heard about. It's a dampened pully so it should soak most of that up.

you mean they don't come chipped? Just dress the edges with a file so it doesn't tear up your belts and don't worry about it.
