programmers don't really work. If you want power you need to do modifications (bolt-ons) to the engine. It's that simple. Nissan built these cars with longevity in mind, there is a reason the computer has it's pre-sets where they are. It's best to leave them there. Just do an intake and an exhaust setup and you'll find yourself with more power. Oh, and always start with a good tune-up. That always helps

I think someone makes a Y-pipe for the 3.5, but I'm not sure. that would be the next place. Also look into thermo spacers for the intake manifold.

a chip won't get you more. I'm not sure just how easily the nissan ECMs can be tuned but you would want to have a professional do it. Those tuner things don't work worth crap. It's a giant waste of money.

Start your Max on a diet!!!

Get yourself some lightweight rims and beware of heavy tires . They also have lightweight lug nuts that save you about a pound of rotating weight.

Also look into lightweight pulleys (Please don't go underdrive. PM me for details. Don't feel like getting into a debate over underdriving).

Assuming it's an AT (I don't keep up on the newer gen options, too busy with the Gs), look into some grouding wires.

All of that should free up another 10-20 HP.

Pulleys and Grounding gear should put you back around $500.

OH...and there's always Carbon Fiber for more weight loss!!! All of my suggestions come with the added bonus of better fuel economy too.
