Since you live in an area like me, which snow comes well every winter haha, id consider getting a set of aftermarket rims for the spring/summer/fall with some good all season or summer tires. And put snow tires on your stockers. As of now in the spring/summer/fall i have my 20x9 chrome rims with 265/45/20 Hankook rubber, and they are great in huge downpours in both braking and handling. Then for the winters i throw on my stock 16;s with Pirelli Scorpion Ice & snow tires.
A good investment in my opinion as you get good looks and good performance tires in the better seasons, while when it comes to winter, snow is not a hassle as with an open differential in 2wd, i can get up huge hills around where i live with no problem when theres like 3-4 inches of snow/slush on the roads, the handling is great and same with breaking.
I rarely need to throw it in 4wd and thats mainly when im playing around in deeper snow or drifting in some parking lot. But if i do throw it in 4wd Hi on the roads, basically your king as i fly by everyone with their all seasons going 60 and they are going 25-30.
Dont know how your funds permit, but if they do, id definetly consider that as i bet chicago winters arent the best.
