My RB26 power steering belt wears down and begins to fray every 2000 miles or so. Is my tension bad, or is it misaligned?

Look at your belt closely, Does it fit all the way down into the grooves of the pulley?

I bought a new belt for my rb25 and it chewed it up also. So I put my old wore out belt back on and it has been on there for 3 yrs now. I cannot find a belt that fit the pulley 100% correctly so it will wear the sides out.

^ 2nd that.

if you're running the 26 balancer with a 25 pump the grooves will not line up correctly, if i remember right.

Identify your balancer and pump. Since I know you are running a RB26, very well might have some interchanging of parts on there.
