My wife has had her Rogue for about 8 months now and in that time we've driven on gravel roads about a half a dozen times. But in that time, the rear rims have become so beaten and pitted that it looks like a dog had used them as a chew toy. On top of it all, the pits and marks have filled in with road debris and dust and now they're covered in black dots. I've driven on country roads all my life with numerous makes and models of cars and truck but this is the first time that I've seen alloy rims deteriorate this fast. I've driven the same roads with my '08 Altima Coupe and have nothing for marks on mine.

Has anyone else had their Rogue rims destroyed by the road.

Welcome to reality. If you think that is bad. The paint job is easily chipped away by small rocks where I can see the black surface under the paint job.

Definitely not your father's oldsmobile. Back in day paint was never this weak.

Not a real SUV but come on Nissan, at least make the car driveable on regular roads with smooth surfaces where running into a bird's feather won't wreck havoc on our paint job.

Don't even get me started on the paint. The black Rogue has a white base while the white Altima has a black base - way to think with logic Nissan.

Are the Rogue rims just that soft? Like I said, the Altima has driven the on the same gravel roads, and has twice the kilometers and the rims are still perfect. I've thought about swapping rims. Making the Rogue rims my Altima winter rims.

Does anyone know the bolt pattern on the Rogue as well as the offset for the stockers.

The Altima wheel uses the same bolt pattern and hub bore except the offset is larger at +45mm. Actually, you could go so far to say that almost all Nissan and Infiniti cars that have 5 lug wheels use the identical bolt pattern and hub diameter.

BTW, I use OEM Nissan Altima steel wheels (16x6.5 +45mm) on my Rogue for winter tires. Fits perfectly.

My Rogue came with wheel covers so that was the first thing I replaced (with aftermarket rims). I really hate to hear that the OEM wheels are so soft because if I decide to upgrade to an SL I would have definitely kept the factory rims.

Maybe let your dealer have a look at them the next time you're in for service, it can't hurt to ask if it's covered under warranty. The reason I say this is because I've driven my Rogue through 2 harsh Canadian winters with TONS of sand, gravel and salt, it sounds like you're driving on gravel roads when you drive around town and even on the highway here. Lots of deep snow too, and thawing conditions which creates deep slush loaded with gravel and sand which really hammers the wheels. They've really gotten crazy with the coarse road gravel here, and the salt doesn't help either.

After all this my rims look like brand new, not a single nick. After reading your post I walked out to the parking lot to take a look, and they are perfect. Also, my paint job is in near perfect condition too other than surface swirls from washing but my yearly wax job will take care of that.

Let the dealer have a look at those rims after you clean them up, maybe you've got defective coating?

I've tried having the dealer look at them. If fact, I had two dealers look at them. The dealer we bought it at (Yorkton) and then the dealer where we live (Saskatoon). The Yorkton dealer even tried getting Nissan Canada involved but they just shrugged it off as our road conditions. It really sucks because other then a couple of stone chips (easy fix) and paint swirls (black - but an easy fix), the thing is mint, except of the damn rims.
