Just pulled apart my KA24E engine to do a complete rebuild. purchased a standard rebuild kit and upon inspection came across connecting rods with the Chevrolet name and bow tie on them. Why would this be and is there any advantage to using these connecting rods over OEM parts?

Maybe went through the ” chevrolet” stamping section in china? Lol. The stock rods are very stout and any aftermarket ”oem” rod is most likely inferior.

Thank you for the reply. I've heard the Nissan rods are very strong. I didn't clarify... the rods were in the block already. The rebuild kit I bought didn't come with rods. it came with just abut everything else though. Now I worry this motor was built and the kit I bought won't work. I'm going to have to do some careful measuring. This motor was a junk yard motor that lasted a whole 15 laps in a race.
A friend says the chevy rods might be a little longer giving me more compression and torque at higher RPM's. Any ideas? thoughts? Possibilities? I'm fairly new at racing and definitely new at 240sx's. Last year I raced a 93 Honda civic dx front wheel drive. It was so slow compared to the 240sx it's not even funny. lol

I highly doubt they are chevy rods and/or longer because that would result in the need for a shorter crank (which would be destroking the engine) which nobody makes a shorter stroke crank for the ka. If the engine was stroked than yes, the crank was machined and you have an offset crank or an aftermarket crank which I doubt. ive yet to see a successful mickey mouse stroker kit for the ka or sr on any build thread or in person.
