I ask this question, cuz this guy at school is always talking crap about how his Civic is all that... ((it has 17' inch rims, and altezza lights that give him 20 extra hp...)) Well we want to set him up agaisnt this girl at our school that drives a Chevy Cavalier 2.2 liter with a 5 speed. ((The civic is a 5 speed too.. also the kid is a moron, he's like "i can peel out in every gear!")) The kid has NO mods, and it isn't vtec. it's the 1.6... So do you think she has a chance in beating him?

I'd say the cavalier, unless it's a Civic SI. A civic SI has a decent shot at winning.

Oh wait, missed the "no vtec" part. Yeah, the cavalier will stomp it.

Why do you care? Tell honda boy to bring it or shut the hell up, Why Send this "chick" to shut him up? Your car on blocks waiting for an engine?

The race comes down to who is the better driver. I have seen TMS beat the piss out of a R32 GTST with a NA CA18! He was the better driver.

If you want to see the Honda beaten so badly, do it yourself. Don't you think you can win against him? And surely, if this fellow claims his car can chirp in every gear, he won't have any qualms to taking on your mad Sentra *cough* sorry, 200SX.

Iam guessing they want to set his race up with a girl, maybe cause that type of race would kill his pride?

(just a guess)

2.2 cav's are slow as poop. The 2.4's are pretty decent though, I used to have one and it was a good second faster than my 240 with the KA-E. Maybe it was just because the KA had 200k miles on it though.....

That's the whole point, mainly cuz he simply won't race anybody. So i'm thinking if we set him up agasint a girl, he actually will. Like half the school is wanting to see this too, cuz NO one like this kid...

Probably right about the "getting beat by a girl" thing...but that's so high-school. You want to see someone get beat, go out and be the one to beat them. Don't send proxies.

240_keyy is dead on, the 2.2 is a dog and given that the Cav is probably heavier than the Civic, not a great matchup anyway.

the 1.6 is a a very good and reliable motor, as most honda motors. However it's anything but powerful. With the heavy 17's he added, i don't think he stands a chance. Yes i dais heavy, how do i know? a kid with altezzas isn't into lightweight wheels.

Either way, that's a pretty sad matchup. You could use a lawnmower for a pace car. Or a glacier. No, wait...the glacier might be too fast. :)What are you guys planning to time the race with? A sundial? Carbon dating?

Edit: I'm pretty sure that's got VTEC. My Grammy's got one.

LOLIm only posting because I had a (2.4) Z24 5-speed.It was real quick but not put together too well.I say the 2.2 will win if its driven anywhere near right.I also had a CRX and know that without mods its a good gas saver and thats about it.The good thing(and only good thing IMO)about the Honda is that there are many many mods out there to make it really fast.

Dont know about the 2.4 but I will run him in my 3.1.

Of course I was all most beat by a 97 Altima. But then again, the Altima is a Nissan.

with a d16a2, the crx(si model) can be relatively quick stock, due to the fact that it weighs almost nothing.

Depending on the year of the civic(i'm assuming 5th gen, 92-95) it's got a d16a6 I believe. Gutless wonder. Little more than 100 horsepower. It it's a hatchback, it has a chance of winning, if the guy doesnt suck at driving, although I know very little about cavaliers. It all comes down to who's the better driver though. You should get a girl with a rx-7 to race him.

But please, keep it legal, take it to the track.
