ive been lookin online and i have searched on this forum. i know i found one thread that had to do with a lt1 in a s14 but i cant find it anymore and online i dont find anyhthing except pages that say that tha swap has been done

i need info on swapin a chevy 350 or even 305 into my s13. i have a 90 5 spd. i obviously know i need tha motor and transmission as well as computer and blah blah blah. i dont know everythig i need tho. and on top of that which computer should i use for the 350 as well as which transmission should i use for it.

any info at all will help!!!which motor would u go for

your gonna need mounts, and i have no idea how it will connect to an R200 rear end. i'm interested in the specifics of such a swap myself, i doubt i'd ever do it but i'd like to know about it.

Hey man,

I have a '91 that I am looking into doing the LT1 swap into. I am still trying to get the dimensions for the 6 Speed trans that comes in the 93-97 F-Body cars, to see where the shifter will poke thru the floor. If it doesnt sit to far back I am willing to make a new console from fibreglass to accomidate it. I am planning on using all aftermarket guages also so I won't have to use the gauge cluster from the donar car. The only thing I am conserned about is the hood clearance near the front as the S14 doesn't slope down as much as our cars I think there might be some issues there. But if I could find a cheap VG30ET I would probably go with that swap instead. About the 305 Vs 350 don't even think about getting the 305, it has the same outer diminsions as the 350 and just isn't as powerfull. My brother has an '83 S-10 that we swaped a 305 into and it's fast, but not as fast as a 95 Z-28.

Depending on if your going to run a carbed or EFI engine, it depends.A carbed 350 takes all of 5 or 6 wires to get it running (power to coil, hook up the alternator, the starter, temperature gauge, and oil pressure). So you would need to find the corresponding wires on the 240sx chasis, and throw the rest away. So theres the wiring part. EFI, well, your on your own. As far as transmission, don't go turbo 350. With the ratio's with that and the 240's 4.03 or whatever rear-end, you'll top out at somewhere around 90 mph unless your small block revs to 12,000. Lining the driveshaft and stuff up, uh, put the engine in and start measuring. Make mounts accordingly. A good site though for engine swap stuff is http://www.hybridz.org. It's all about the v8 in the 240z chassis, and the people there are knowlegeable about this stuff.

I'd say leave the really old engine designs in the older cars, like 240z and the like. theres a really nice one in last months SCC, came out to like 2800lbs and 50/50 weight or so, and over 300lbs torque to the wheels.

This place may have some type of "weld in" adapters that would fit.

My next project will be a domestic :firedevil but I'm not doing it until I can afford to build something capable of at least 700rwhp daily. I say go for it, but stay away from that craptastic 305, if you have the choice start with a 350 base, we all know it'll fit and there are TONS of options for building one up. There's nothing wrong with pushrods :D

Hmmn, Okay. 305s are boat anchors. IF you do it go with atleast a 350. Are you talking about a gen one older smal block? I think a LS1 would be optimal and have thought about doing it for a while. The thing here to remember is that you will basicly own a camaro. Thats what I think about the LT1 240 that Areis has. Once you add the weight from the motor you basicly tipping the scales at what a f body does so its kinda pointless unless the car and motor are ultra light and you use a LS1 or a 5.0 motor(5.0s are supposidley lighter than a LS1) A GN turbo V6 would be nice though, Im just saying dont expect the car to be anything special.

With that much torque and displacement are you planning to stick to quarter mile?
