Car is a 93 240SX 5spd conversion from auto. All emissions removed (PAIR valve, EGR, etc.)

I am going to check my dizzy timing. Here is my issue: when the TPS is disconnected, my idle is at 1300 RPM and the idle screw is threaded FULLY in... I just cleaned the idle air valve a few weeks ago. When the TPS is plugged in the car idles fine (~700). Will I be okay to go ahead and play with the timing even with the idle this high?

<---- = IDK.

Sorry man but that baffles me. timing has never been an issue to me. Only electrical and such. Lemme do some digging for you.

I should have been more clear.

Everything is in working order. I checked/tested/cleaned/replaced the following- coolant temp sensor, mass air flow sensor, oxygen sensor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel pump, fuel injectors, fuel filter, air filter, distributor, pulled trouble codes (found none) and ignition coil, IACV.

My idle is still at 1300 with the TPS disconnected and Idle screw set all the way in... Yet with the TPS plugged in it is dead on (700 RPM +/-50)

My question was- will I be okay to set the timing anyways even with the idle that high? I feel like I am out of options because I've tested damn near everything idle related... I should have reread my question before I posted in the original post. Sorry!!! Edited!

The first thing I would do is find out why the idle is so high. You either have an intake leak or the throttle body isn't adjusted properly. The timing adjustment would not be accurate at that high of an idle.
