Fred...:)

PS: I just picked up a 94 "t" 36 hours ago.

Gongratulations! Is that one from SpeedDoctor? Then change your signature and give us some pics :)

Well, I have to try to cut another $400 to compensate for pick up trip - it's 1100 miles away. Looks like he replaced everything that could wear. The only thing I found AC was not serviced and he agreed that should be done. Hm.. what else can I find...

Airman: I'd certainly investigate it. Did you check the 1996? PS flush is seldom done.

Fred: 36 hours and no story? We want to hear all about it.

Where in SC is he located? If it's anywhere near Columbia, I'd be happy to go test drive it and give you my impressions. I'm certainly not in the market for another Q, so don't think that I'm going to try to jump in on your deal...

From the pictures and info you posted here, I'm in agreement with Fred - this one looks pretty good!

Marion is a little far for me... about 120 miles.

If Matt ever comes to Columbia, you might mention that I can look at it for you if you want.

I just checked, and he is a member of the Yahoo Group... I knew I'd seen that name somewhere before! He was a member since 6/99, so he's definately had the information to know how to keep it in tip-top shape and it appears that he has.

Like I said, I'm very impressed with the pictures... even the brake fluid looks clean!

Thank you, Fred, Heath. The thing I'm worried about is AC. It's critical here in tx.How far do they go on these cars if not serviced?

Probably pretty critical in SC too. Does he have tinted windows? Necessary in TX, FL, AZ, and probably others.

The point being, you better have some cash for continued maintenance and future repair. At least it is the 134a coolant and not R12. Flush it and replace the drier if you have doubts.

A/C is a point of some debate... if the system is well sealed, it shouldn't get moisture build-up. Moisture in the system will cause acid, which eats away at the system's components, etc. In a mobile environment, with vibrations, etc. it's hard to keep everything sealed perfectly.

I'd say have it flushed and a new drier put in after you buy it (as maxnix suggested) and see what happens. My A/C still works well on "Q1" and it's 11+ years old (compressor was replaced at about 30K for an update) at 190K - and that's with very little maintenence.

Just keep in mind that ANY car you buy used will have some issue you'll want to address, and things will break. The goal is to find one with most of the major issues already addressed, or at least know what you're getting into. Assuming Matt's car hasn't had any paint or body work done to it, it looks like the best thing going in that price range.
