YOU ARE THE BUYER. You are in control. Ask HIM to do anything to the car. Start it, do this, do that. If you drive it at least get a verbal agreement that if something breaks its NOT your fault. Let the car sit and idle for as long as possible to make sure it doesn't overheat. This is a car you want to buy. He's trying to sell. Ask as many questions as you can like ^ said. If it has AC, make sure that works, make sure heater works, make sure it shifts well. Many things to check. If you start finding s*** that is broken that he didn't tell you about, expect to find more. Just because you are there doesn't mean you have to buy it. Go check it out and weigh your options. AND BRING A JACK!!!! Check the bottom of the oil pan make sure its not fugged up, and check all the frame rails. Don't be afraid to low ball.
