Well i've finally come to the conclusion that the reason why my 93 240sx is so sluggish at high and low rpm's is my fuel pump. but one problem remains, how do you check if its bad?? any help on this is greatly apreaciated, thanks

get a fuel gauge and tee it in to the hose coming off the fuel filter turn the key from off to the on position. pressure should be around 36 to 40 psi. start the car the pressure should be right about 36psi. pull the vaccum line off the FP regulator and it should jump up to about 41psi. if those tests come out ok you fuel pump is fine. goos e the throttle a couple times and it should jump up in the same fashion.

Actually you need to ALSO test the pump under full load driving at the HP peak rpm to make sure the pump/regulator/fuel filter/lines allows 43.4 psi [obviously 40 psi would be enough].

Tape gauge to windshield.
