Two weeks ago on a lovely Sunday afternoon I'm leaving Nashivlle on I-65 North heading home to Louisville. Riding in the left lane thru a construction zone (3 lanes, no shoulders, concrete barriers on both sides) an 18 wheeler decides to change lanes as I'm passing him. I'm in the middle of his trailer when I see his turn signal come on and he starts coming over on me. I slam on my brakes and flash my headlights but he keeps coming over. I move as far to the left as I can without scrapping against the wall, but he's still coming over and DAMN..."How long is this freaking trailer?!?" Well I'm still braking and he's still changing lanes and I see his rear tires getting awfully close and I'm getting a little scared now. Needless to say bye bye Taurus...

My next car was supposed to be an S14, but it's impossible to find one on short notice. I got a real good deal on a 99 Escort so I'll be driving that til I find my perfect 240sx

Yeah, thank God I wasn't hurt and no one was sitting on the passenger side. The worst part is the truck didn't stop!!!

I've had similar things happen...but I've always been able to slow down fast enough, I hope everything works out for you!

Too bad you couldn't get a plate (or a company name) off the truck. I'm sure there's some damage to the trailer tires and some paint transfer for evidence.

What a prick to just keep on rolling.....Glad you're OK.

If you look closely at the pic, you can see the line where the bottom edge of the trailer scrapped the side of my car (from the middel of the back window to huge gash in the A pillar). I was breaking REALLY hard...that's why the scrape looks like it goes up hill. I dont think I couldve made underneath, lol!Well since it was a hit and run and I only had liability on that old thing, I got to eat the loss.If only that car had lasted til the end of summer. I just got a raise at work and moved to a new apt (cheaper rent!!). I was planning on finding an S14 this summer. So it set me back a little, but what can ya do??

dang dude that sucks so bad. sorry about your car and sorry for that moron not stopping. but you're alright, which is what matters. that is really one of my worst fears, those stupid truckers think they own the road and it pisses me off. ARRGGG

Damn dude, I'm sorry. I freakin' hate truckers on TN interstates....I deal with enough of them on I-40.

It always kills me because I40 goes up through the mountains, and the f**cking truckers think it's a good idea to try to pass one another at 50 mph up a damned mountain. I remember one finally passed another truck and stayed in the left lane for the next few minutes with no intention of moving back to the right. I had even flashed my lights signalling him to merge. Well the bastard didn't do a thing. So I go to the right lane to pass him, and had an experience much like yours. The a-hole comes over right on top of me when I'm halfway down the length of him. Flashing my lights and honking my horn did nothing - luckily I had a shoulder and went right into the emergency lane. After passing his *** and giving him the 1 fingered salute I wished I had the plate number.

That's one 911 call I would have loved to have made.

Anyways, glad you're alright, good luck on the new car hunt.
