Winter is coming, folks.

Check your coolants viability.

Also if you haven't changed your coolant in a couple of years go ahead and flush your system (not just a radiator drain and refill).

And be sure to pee before going to bed. We don't want any accidents!!

Funny you should mention that Fred because even with my new cap I still find coolant splashed around that area sometimes. Well, it won't be getting to cold here in the Sunshine State.

Are you sure the problem isnt in the filler neck? Also I once tracked down a similiar problem and found a loose coolant hose to be the cause.

already did it. it's easy to do, but i hate it. to picky i guess. i always fear i didn't get it just right ya know? drain, fill with distilled and flush, run 10 minutes, drain, fill with distilled, run 10 minutes, drain, fill with mixture. doesn't seem like there'll be enough anti-freeze with that method.

My current fill is only 6 months old.

But it IS kinda thin with,70%dist water, 1 bottle RWW and 26.5% AF (the RWW is about 3.5% of a Q's cooling system).

KY winters are mild, I may run this thru the winter, but I will monitor temp predictions, if they go below -20F or so I will changeto thicker mix, but in teh 2 winters I been here so far its been that low only once.

And even if it were to get that cold and my current fill is only good to -20F, all i would have to do is run the car warm in the evening and teh coolant will stay plenty warm until the morning start.

But if I have to leave town for a couple weeks mid-winter it will get a rad drain and refill, with all AF, bringing it up to about 50/50.
