Just did this a couple of weekends ago and got the writeup finished.

DIF Stainless steel clutch line review

People come on here asking all the time what mods they should do to their car, a lot of times it's just a combination of checking fluids and making sure everything is in good working order that makes you enjoy your car more.

In all my digging I read somewhere, can't find it or I'd link it, that the reason ATE SuperBlue was banned in the US was because the dark colour made it hard for drivers to perform a quick visual check and inspect the condition of their brake fluid. After seeing the sorry state my clutch fluid was in I can believe it. My brake fluid gets changed yearly, minimum...my clutch fluid, well - not so much.

Seems like a dark fluid would actually be easier to check in a translucent reservoir than a nearly clear fluid.

We're talking about checking the condition of the fluid, not the level of the fluid .

I see. I would consider level more immediately important than condition.
Continental stated that the reason the federal standard called for a clear brake fluid was to keep it from being confused with some other automotive fluid rather than providing a visual clue as to its condition.
