This is my third ticket of the month. The first was a $50 parking ticket, the second was a $105 parking ticket (both for parking in a no parking area, where the no parking sign was fuc ken hidden), and now this . . .

Have you seen those t-bone crashes...yeah the one where the driver or the passenger usually dies. Thats what they're trying to prevent by doing this. Serves you right...jeez I stop at yellow lights, much less run red ones.

Trust me . . if you had my car . . and my corroded brake lines and leaky brake master cylinder . . you would much rather just run the light real quick (.56 seconds is not bad) considering that the light stays red on the other side for about two seconds after ur light turns red. Or would you rather be a dumbazz and hit ur brakes and send ur *** flying into something else? By the way I was going only about 30 - 40.

this reminds me of a near accident that i had...IT was the first day i got my 240sx. I was all happy and driving it home with my gf. I stopped at light waiting to make a left turn. When the light was turning yellow, i proceed to turn. All of a sudden i see a van coming at me at around 40mph with no intention of stopping even though the light turned red already... Luckily i only turned half way and the driver managed to turn the steering wheel in time to avoid the accident. I can smell the tire burn from the van after..damn that was a close one.

seriously.. running redlights is not OK. If you're brakes are really that worn that you can not stop in time, when you have the several second warning of A YELLOW light, maybe you should not be driving that car at all.

Yes, poor maintenance is no excuse to break traffic laws and endanger others. Bad move. Very bad excuse.

OK JUST TO LET YOU KNOW YOU HAVE 1 SEC FOR EVERY 10MPH DURING A YELLOW TO STOP, AND 1.5-2 SECONDS OF RED. FROM THE LOOKS OF IT YOU HAD WAY MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME TO STOP. I LOST A FRIEND TO A DRUNK RED LIGHT RUNNER, BOTH ARE EQUALLY BAD. BRAKES ARE NO EXCUSE FIX THEM AT MOST YOU WOULD HAVE TO REBUILD YOUR CALIPERS SO WHAT ($6 PER CALIPER)?

PARK that POS until it's fixed, then!!!

I normally don't flame on folks here, but good God, what the hell are you thinking?

30-40mph? That's INSTANT death for almost anything you t-bone. Trust me, I was a certified (back in the day) accident investigator... 40 mph into the side of another car like your 240 means the driver is DOA 90% of the time.

Take the damn bus before you kill someone with that heap. And take ricebike up on his VERY generous (and cool) offer.

ricebike is THE MAN.

guys, in NYC, red-light runners are a dime-a-dozen...esp the cabbies... I don't condone it, but I see it all the time. Starting to see them in NJ as well... that & stoopid parallel parking that scratches/dents my bumpers/license plates... grr...

K, gosh...heading back tomorrow midday since I hate traveling during rushour n will zip u an email by Fri... gotta do some work on my sis' 97 cavalier <dayum didn't know that the 2.2L engine is a PUSHROD, not a SOHC like autozone's/pepboys' pc is statin'>

off-topic: any chevy peeps here as well? the 100K plugs/wires didn't last as stated in her owner's manual... only ~70K. The AC Delco dual-platinum-tipped plugs were eroded to .010" over the limit of .060" WTF???? plus the #3 wire was severed from the wire-plug terminal. & who's idea to stick the coil pack waay outta reach < I had to wedge my forearm to the elbow between the intake manifold & the firewall to pull the wires>

Yeaa, makes me even more happy to own an import. I do less maintenance on my car than my family's Domestics...

Listen to the Hitman. I have been to several side impact crashes back when I was doing the fire fighting. Only one fatality, thou. I have had many here in the Communications Center. I hate having to call for air lifts, and I talk to the medical examiner far to often these days. He does have some interesting stories thou... "Billy Bobs head flew out the window," and stuff like that.

You really should get that thing fixed.

Every high-speed side impact crash I've ever seen has been ugly, especially on the driver's side.

You'd be amazed at how far the driver's head comes OUT of the window before it smacks the hood of the car doing the hitting. Typically leaves a pretty nasty mark.:puke

I personally dont agree with red-light cameras, I see them as nothing more than a way to raise revenue. However, that does NOT mean I agree with running red lights. The law here is that you have to have entered the intersection before the light turns red...not such an unreasonable law...try not to kill anyone.
