Hey do you have any pics of the completed project including with the lights on. I want to do the plug and play kit, but if you have a way of getting projectors in......

Email me at [email protected] so that we can discuss details.

I have a pic somewhere of me standing next to the Salt Flat Q, SEMA 2000.

Now I just need one of me standing next to PMQ's & I'll be set.

Is that a cowl induction shaker scoop on the R35?

Give me a picture of yourself and I'll photoshop it in.

Just wondering. Does somebody make a cowl hood for the Q45? I wouldn't want it to be as pronounced as the Salt Flat Qs. Maybe a hood with two small scoop intakes.

Also, I was/am thinking about making a fiberglass mold of my hood.

How much does the stock hood weigh? Would it be worthwhile to make one out of fiberglass?

At the risk of sounding like PMQ, I have often wondered this.

To my knowledge, no one has made a G50 cowl hood. However, I think a low-rise cowl induction-style hood would look spectacular on the right car.

Might be a nice improvement in the Phoenix heat.

Fiberglass crafting is an art, I think a good 'glasser (or metalworker) could do wonders with the STOCK hood though.

I wouldnt mind some little vents in the hood, just to kinda let things "air out" when it gets really hot.....

Um, Bob, I don't need to be photoshopped. My fat a$$ in all its glory is prominently displayed in the pic, eclipsing the Q. If you need proof, I'll go dig it out.

I have a guy who goes by the name of "Fiberglass Man". He looks just like Stephen King, but has produced AND reproduced everything from a clay boxing statue for a FLA supreme court judge to NASA stuff, to AN ENTIRE INTERIOR OF AN NSX for me.

All autoclaved, all perfect. (Vacuum formed structural carbon fiber -or- Roven based carbon or kevlar overlay)

Not to be a putz, but a out of the mold produced (tool up costs notwithstanding) hood for any car made from 100% carbon fiber would sell for about $1400+.

Tool-up costs for the first one would be around $2000.

Any takers?

PMQ, do you have any idea the experience level or time involved to produce a Buck or Plug in order to make a mold from?

That's what I thought.

PMQ, try one of these on for size, it's more your 'speed'.

http://www.ventshade.com/produ...s.htm

I know I'm coming across as an a$$ again, I swear it's not in my nature, but PMQ, AZ, before you think about tying into something like this, please let me bestow what little bit of useless information I've gathered from doing it before.

Ten orders covers the tool-up, step right up, get a hunch & bet a bunch, who's first?

P.S. For a reference of work I was involved with, do a google search for "Greenwood Corvettes" Many, many, many, many 10's of thousands spent in wind tunnel time to produce a 'body kit' capable of keeping a C4 stable at speeds realistically approaching 200MPH.

Again, I just threw that thought out to you guys. Avidently, others have had the same thought/wondering.

Are you questioning my skills again? I have dabbled in the art of fiberglass molding. I primarily work with speaker horns. Have you ever tried making one of those things? Now, that is a major PITA.

IIRC, making a large mold would require wax paper and paper mashe.

Yes EVIDENTLY others have also wondered. It's valid and would work & sell if done correctly. IE; To factory standards, not what you typically find in the aftermarket or someones Dad's garage.

What skills?

Mashe is a French phoenetic for a potato dish, perhaps. Try making a real mold out of paper MACHE' and it'll melt.

Better to keep one's mouth shut and let others think you're a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

And to answer your question, yes, only good enough to be in the Ocean Center for Spring Break Nationals for the last seven years.

Please, when you quote a genius such as Einstein, give credit where credit is due.

No, I wasn't calling you a dumbass. You said that you didn't mean to come across as an a$$. So, I said that I don't mean to come across as a dumbass, but I always do.
HeavyDuty wrote:Mashe is a French phoenetic for a potato dish, perhaps. Try making a real mold out of paper MACHE' and it'll melt.
It depends on what mixture you use. The ones I know of are flour, water, and newspaper strips. Also, there is newspaper strips and paste. The one containing flour will melt, as you stated. The one using paste will not melt as easily.

You have made horns for speakers? Tweeters? Midrange? Woofer? Or Subwoofer? Or all of the above?

I have primarily worked with Tweeter and subwoofer horns. They are used in concert halls most of the time. The enclosure that I use them in is called a folded-corner-horn.

According to this site it was Abe Lincoln, Einstein. I thought it might have been confucius but should have noted credit duly.

http://ragingwind.net/quotes.html

Also many many good ones on the same subject here.

http://www.quotesandsayings.com/gwisefool.htm

I acknlowedge I misread your speaker horn part. I interpreted fiberglass enclosures / buildouts for systems. No, we've not built horns.

I've purposely been avoiding any threads you started or even contributed to to avoid any further conflict. I see from those threads I just now perused, I'm not the only one who has heard enough.

I'll now resume what I previously stated, now I suppose you'll continue to dare AZ & Wes, etc to ban you, citing a bogus claim of censorship.

This is a privately owned site for everyone's enjoyment, and you seem to relish your ability to fart in a room full of people and close the door behind you. I would have never reinstated you, and to quote you from your last ousting

"I'll always win, AZ."

Doubt it.

Come on guy lets not start getting physical in a telecommunication sort of way.

PMQ - Just relax and dont downplay every little thing that people say. There is alot of experience on the board and of course you are going to get people who say dont do this or that.

Heavy Duty - I totally respect what you do and all the input you have put in. Just try to understand PMQ position. He is a young man who is not going to simply accept an answer without disecting each and every aspect. It is our responsibility as "older" folk to give him the tools needed to take info and process it.

Wes - Please dont erase the thread. Even though people on this fourm may not like the guy he has forced some good info. Just by people getting angry and therefore launching info into the thread. Every good thing needs someone like PMQ. His is inevitable. A young man who wants to know what, where and why.

Do you mean like a dance off . I usually dance with women, but if you insist. What's your fancy? Waltz, Tango, Square Dance, or freestyle?

I'll try.

Wow, I couldn't have said that better. I'm sorry for questioning you guys so much. As pito said, I like to dissect each and every aspect of a question. If somebody gives me an answer, I like to learn why it is that way. It will probably help everybody if you post a website with your answer. If you do that, I promise that I will research the subject in question before I post an answer or response. I will also post a link to the website(s) that I got my information.
HeavyDuty wrote:I've purposely been avoiding any threads you started or even contributed to to avoid any further conflict. I see from those threads I just now perused, I'm not the only one who has heard enough.
Heavy Duty: I'm sorry for arguing with you and other people so much. Like I said before, I like to know why things are. I'll keep my unknowledgable arguements to myself.

To wes and other admins and modsIf I try to argue on a subject and I am very wrong, please just delete my post. If I respond opposingly(after researching) to someone, I will give a link to where I got the basis of my opposition. Would that be ok? I really don't want to anger anybody, especially not the admins and/or mods. I'll try to be good.

I'm sorry

Agreed... You dont come across as very humble and accepting to knowledge, you "question" everything, after youve asked a question.....

The guys here arent unreasonable... I know each one enough to know that they will NOT say stuff for no reason (double negative?)

If you get an answer here you don't like or don't agree with, spend some time researching credible sources and maybe wait a day before replying. I've done that before & wouldn't THINK of responding again until I had verified what I was talking about, or recanted my opinion publicly.

Everytime one makes a incredible or blatantly false statement here or anywhere, that person loses credibility. Do it too many times and like the "little boy who cried wolf" soon that person will be disregarded entirely. Then that person suffers the fate you're now in.

We all should just think about how we would react/respond to a comment if we were in person rather than behind a keyboard. PMQ, I seriously doubt you would let comments fly like "a-hole, moron, dumbass" etc if you were in the personal company of many of us here. Actually, I know you wouldn't.
