Now I just need one of me standing next to PMQ's & I'll be set.
Is that a cowl induction shaker scoop on the R35?
Um, Bob, I don't need to be photoshopped. My fat a$$ in all its glory is prominently displayed in the pic, eclipsing the Q. If you need proof, I'll go dig it out.PoorManQ45 wrote:

Just wondering. Does somebody make a cowl hood for the Q45? I wouldn't want it to be as pronounced as the Salt Flat Qs. Maybe a hood with two small scoop intakes.
Also, I was/am thinking about making a fiberglass mold of my hood.
How much does the stock hood weigh? Would it be worthwhile to make one out of fiberglass?
Again, I just threw that thought out to you guys. Avidently, others have had the same thought/wondering.HeavyDuty wrote:Not to be a putz, but a out of the mold produced (tool up costs notwithstanding) hood for any car made from 100% carbon fiber would sell for about $1400+.
Are you questioning my skills again? I have dabbled in the art of fiberglass molding. I primarily work with speaker horns. Have you ever tried making one of those things? Now, that is a major PITA.HeavyDuty wrote:PMQ, do you have any idea the experience level or time involved to produce a Buck or Plug in order to make a mold from?
No problem. I know what ya mean. Yes EVIDENTLY others have also wondered. It's valid and would work & sell if done correctly. IE; To factory standards, not what you typically find in the aftermarket or someones Dad's garage.PoorManQ45 wrote:Again, I just threw that thought out to you guys. IIRC, making a large mold would require wax paper and paper mashe.
Don't put words in my mouth. I didn't say dumbass, dumbass, and if the tail fits, make room for the ears.PoorManQ45 wrote:No problem. I know what ya mean. I always come across as a dumbass, but I'm not
Please, when you quote a genius such as Einstein, give credit where credit is due.HeavyDuty wrote:Better to keep one's mouth shut and let others think you're a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.
No, I wasn't calling you a dumbass. You said that you didn't mean to come across as an a$$. So, I said that I don't mean to come across as a dumbass, but I always do.HeavyDuty wrote:Don't put words in my mouth. I didn't say dumbass, dumbass, and if the tail fits, make room for the ears.
It depends on what mixture you use. The ones I know of are flour, water, and newspaper strips. Also, there is newspaper strips and paste. The one containing flour will melt, as you stated. The one using paste will not melt as easily.HeavyDuty wrote:Mashe is a French phoenetic for a potato dish, perhaps. Try making a real mold out of paper MACHE' and it'll melt.
You have made horns for speakers? Tweeters? Midrange? Woofer? Or Subwoofer? Or all of the above?HeavyDuty wrote:And to answer your question, yes, only good enough to be in the Ocean Center for Spring Break Nationals for the last seven years.

I'll try.pito11213 wrote:PMQ - Just relax and dont downplay every little thing that people say. There is alot of experience on the board and of course you are going to get people who say dont do this or that.
Wow, I couldn't have said that better. I'm sorry for questioning you guys so much. As pito said, I like to dissect each and every aspect of a question. If somebody gives me an answer, I like to learn why it is that way. It will probably help everybody if you post a website with your answer. If you do that, I promise that I will research the subject in question before I post an answer or response. I will also post a link to the website(s) that I got my information.pito11213 wrote: Just try to understand PMQ position. It is our responsibility as "older" folk to give him the tools needed to take info and process it.
Heavy Duty: I'm sorry for arguing with you and other people so much. Like I said before, I like to know why things are. I'll keep my unknowledgable arguements to myself.HeavyDuty wrote:I've purposely been avoiding any threads you started or even contributed to to avoid any further conflict. Agreed... You dont come across as very humble and accepting to knowledge, you "question" everything, after youve asked a question.....Jesda wrote:Its not at all what you say, its how you say it! Get that through your head and we can get along just fine.
