This is what happens when your in a hurry and you want to get the engine installed and not rebuild it before you install it. I think the oil pump went out, but I could be wrong. I haven't taken it apart yet. It's not a very good view of it, but you can still see it. That is the #3 rod sticking out of the block. That's why I'm looking for another complete block.

That sucks man. Makes me want to pull my motor and do a full rebuild before I start driving it.

It made no noise whatsoever before throwing up? Rod knock is not an acute failure unless you revved it to 12000 rpms or something.

Well I took it out for a test drive saturday night. Got on the highway and just cruisin about 60mph, stayin' out of boost because just put in a new clutch. I was just going about 2 exits down the road, Then i circled back around to go back to the house. I get back on the highway and I start hearing a really light tickin' noise. I'm in the middle lane. So then the noise starts to get louder and louder. So I try to get over in the emergency so I can turn the car off before something major goes wrong. By this time the noise is really loud. So right before I get over into the emergency lane "bang", there it goes. The motor dies. I'm in the emergency lane, stop the car, get out of the car, open the hood, lookin' around the engine with my flashlight. I go to look on the drivers of the motor and that's what I see. A hole the size of a baseball on the side of the block with a rod stickin' out of it. I told myself, "I knew I should have rebuilt it before I stuck it in". Some ppl have to learn the hard way and I was one of them. This is a lesson learned for me. So If you haven't rebuilt your motor yet, you might want to think about it before something like this happens to you. Then you think you should have rebuilt it before puttin in the car.
