I have had my stock sr running for a couple of months now and have about 100 miles on it but i found out really what it would do last friday at the drag strip.

To make a long story short i have raced it here before boost set on .7 bar ran a 14.00 @ 101-102. I want to run a 13 sec pass i know the car will do it. This time i cleared all the boost settings in the blitz-id and was reprogramming it for more boost but forgot how(DUH). Left the instructions at home.

So to make it boost i pulled 1 of jessie's stunts. Who needs a waste gate any way all it does it rob power, albiet does protect you from blowing up the engine. So with the waste gate unhooked the car blows the tires off 1st 2nd and 3rd gear. It happened so fast in 2nd i didnt see the tach but in third i watched the tach go all the way to 8500 before the rev limiter picked it up. The boost spiked to 21 and held at 18 in the long gears. I ran a 13.98 @104 the first pass and a 13.56 @ 108 the second pass shifting at 8300 and not hitting the rev limiter.

Now i am confused about how stock my sr really is? I know they aren't supposed to do what mine does. But i really like what mine is doing stock guess it is time to tear it apart and take a look.

Well, I would have to say that running 21lbs boost isnt exactly stock.

just because it wouldnt be efficient doesnt mean it wont run that high, i remember that story, about how that sentra with a stock SR ran a 12.9 or somthing with the wastegate disabled, nice trick indeed...

I haven't upgraded anything yet thats whats puzzling me. I can see the turbo possible making that boost but the rev limiter going to 8500 instead of the stock 7200. I will definately be pulling it back out to check it.

Your gonna destroy the motor and the turbo doing that.

Notice your MPH isn't that great. Thats because at 15 psi after 6000 rpms the stock turbo's efficiency falls off. Running it at 21 psi does nothing but make you slower. Shifting at 8500 rpm, or even 8200 rpm, does nothing but make you slower as well. Stock camshafts and turbo will not flow very much above 7000, so revving to 8500 isn't gonna make the car any faster.

Keep the motor at the level and you'll soon find out why DSMs always break.

yeah I would have to say revving to 8500 with or without RAS is a bad idea. and if you are still making power at 8500 rpms, then you do not have a stock SR. Maybe you have some aftermarket cams or something, maybe a tuned ECU with a rev limit cut (Mines ECU's are pretty common). Hard to tell, but either way nice job on breaking into 13's

Ya you can run 21 pounds but not for long. My friend had his t25 on his eclipse gst and was like" hey watch this I can run 20 pounds on the stock turbo" I tried to explain to him that it wasnt a very good Idea and told him thats way past his efficiency and that I know because i to have a t25. "hey didnt you notice how fast your boost drops down to 14-15. Thats because your turbo cant spin 100,000 rpm you idiot" Need less to say he blew it and the motor like a jackass. I ran 12.7 on 11 psi and he was running 15.4 on his monster house 20 psi on the baby t25. Hahahahahahahahaha..haha....hahah...ha.....huuuuuuuh.......... I laughed for quit awhile............What are you lookin at?

I wouldn't rev that high even with an RAS. The valvetrain still has hydraulic lifters you know...

I dont believe he means only 100 miles total as Im sure it was not rebuilt before he put it in. But the fact remains its a used motor and there isnt a breakin period per say .....but more like a watch out anything can happen time where you have to listen for noises and leaks and s*** like that. Unless the ppl in japan that had it before you upgraded cams and RAS etc oh and the crank, sense we all know there is a reason why you shouldnt go past 8 k rpms on a stock crank with stock internal and no head work..............tick tick tick tick.........kabooooooooooom. Thats the sound of your motor on studity.....any questions? Before you go racing it again, Do some research or Im sure we'll see you on here real soon talkin about how your motor blew up and we will all laugh.......and then cry cause it sucks when someone blows an SR. You need to know the limits and I suggest you read up on them. And pleeeeaaze dont give us the crap that your not knew to motor racing scene and youv'e built 1000 hp motors...just take our advice and heed our warnings. Good luck and take care of your car.

so when the sentra unplugged his wastegate he was damaging his motor the same way? Pretty safe to say the this is not suggested for anyone to try then?
