I'll give you $5 plus a box of stale Pop Tarts I found in the back of my closet. S'mores flavored.

Nice parts. Where'd you get the blacktop from?

Mine should (hopefully) be in by next weekend.

No he means he was buying that exact motor. Cardinal performance is based out of G.a.

It came out of a 1998ish 180SX Type X front clip.

You can tell it is the newer of the blacktops externally by the "fins" on the front of the head. The older blactops don't have these. Easy way to tell the general year. This was a type X based on the ECU not to mention the front type X bumper

Not true, I've got a '96 with the fins on the head. There are even some late model red tops that share these fins.

I am using the wiring, from an S13 Redtop

Greddy intake manifold (not stick intake mani)Splitfire ignition system (not stock coils)Aem EMS (not stock ECU)

I did not say all Type X blacktops have the fins.

ECU code is another way to tell which is what this one had in it. Which ECU does your 1996 have in it? How do you know it is a 96? This motor had a J4 ECU.

The newest of each reds/blacks have the fins which is true. But if it has a Type X bumper and skirts on the clip, I would have to think it was a 180SX type X.

The skirts were only half there...they cut them - couldn't believe they did that.

I got some from Origin and they were really close to factory on my 180SX if it helps.
