Originally posted by stangman96 at mustangworks.com MAN IT WAS WAY COOL, DROVE A '03 COBRA VERT TODAY THAT WAS IN THE SHOP, ME AND ANOTHER TECH TOOK IT OUT AND DROVE IT, DROVE HER HARD, 6 SPEED TRANNY, WE HIT 140 MPH REAL QUICK, TALK ABOUT POWER. NOT THAT WE DO IT HERE ALL THE TIME, BUT I JUST HAD TO RUN IT, IT WAS CALLING MY NAME... :p THE POWER IT HAS IN UNREAL, YOU JUST NEED TO GET OUT AND TEST DRIVE ONE TODAY, BY THE WAY, THE CUSTOMER'S COMPLAINT WAS LACK OF POWER AND POOR GAS MILEAGE, WHAT A CROCK... NEEDLESS TO SAY, IT IS OWNED BY A FEMALE, SHE EVEN SAID IT WAS DYNOED AT A SHOP AND THEY TOLD HER THAT THE CONVERTORS WERE TOO HOT AND THE FUEL TRIM WAS WAY OFF. I HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER, FUEL TRIM WAS NORMAL, CAT TEMP WAS OK, NO CODES, AND IT RAN GREAT. GO FIGURE.. :p OH YEAH, SHE EVEN TOLD THE SERVICE WRITER TO MAKE SURE THAT NO "PUNK" DRIVES HER CAR, WELL SINCE I AM THE MUSTANG SPECIALIST HERE AT THE DEALER, I GUESS I AM "THE PUNK", ALL THE MORE TO DRIVE HER '03 COBRA VERT AND SEE WHAT ITS GOT.. HEHE HOPE SHE DIDNT HAVE A HIDDEN CAMERA IN THAT CAR...... GET THIS, HER PLATES SAY "XXX XX"

Yep - Hope he's unemployed.

Typical Furd repairman. Probably drives an '85 T-Bird with mag wheels.

it seems pretty aparent that the guy wasnt very bright... he thinks mustangs are cool!? and fast?!i still remember when my beetle was goin... i used to love beating all the mustangs on my way to tech... theres nothing like watchin the face change of a "im tough cause i drive a mustang" owner from when he pulls up and revs his engine next to a pale, faded yellow beetle... to the time when he realises he got smoked...defeat... so sweet-Pete "i like porkchops" S.

? "03 Cobra not fast ? I think you may have misread the article cause if you think a '03 Cobra is not fast I think you are living in a world of make believe. Now not liking them is another thing however, this is one Mustang I wouldn't mind having.

And what the hell were you running in the Beetle cause I don't know of too many that aren't full blown track cars that can even take out a V6 Mustang? I am not calling BS but I am just trying to get the facts straight.

Now don't get me wrong I am not a big pony car fan but I mean facts are facts and '03 Cobras are not slow.

I wouldn't mind owning a 03 Cobra either! I already own a fast and slick 1965 Cobra Replica but the 03 Cobras are not slow, to prove a point on a graphical way check out this Video:03 Cobra vs. C5 Vette

im not disputing that cobra's are fast... im talkin bout his own gt... a cobra is a cobra and a muskrat is a muskrat... i dislike both... but have to make the destinction since a cobra actualy has some redeeming qualities.the beetles a full street build up, nothing too major, i rebuilt the entire engie and left only the connecting rods stock. beefed up the trans a bit, and did slight suspension mods.the mustangs i was runnin against couldnt have been anything more then GT's with bs exhuast. but im sure half the time they were v6 or 4 bangers... it was just fun to shut the guys up cause no matter what the powerplant... it seems mustang owners always think they are faster.im sure the only reason i won at all was because of the low end advantage i had, and the fact i only have 1/2 inch of shifter throw(never raced with any speed...like i said just short stop light bursts) if we had a bit more runway i would be smoked... anyway... its all in good fun-pete

thank you... i try not to BS too much... i try not to do it at all really... bs-ing is for losers without licences in the car chat rooms who talk about their 3500 stall speed 6 puck clutch, ya know... the ones who tell you all about thier turbocharged spark plugs and how they are running ultra highperformance power steering fluid so next time they are at the track they will finally break into the 8's with thier mustang (which is really a le car that is sitting outside thier bedroom window with half an inch of dust on it)...?i shouldnt knock on le cars... they are cooler then mustangs.hmm... -pete

hahaha, yeah I saw a Mustang down at Nopi this past weekend that also graced its body with a GTR badge. I almost took pictures to laugh at it always but I figured everyone has already seen some stupid Mustang owner do stupid ish to their car.

Gotta love Nopi a lot of rice has to come out with the nice so the nice you have to search for :D

And I know what you mean SER Chicken, a lot of the Mustangs that try to act bad a$$ are only little V6s but there are quite a few GTs that are built up nicely. For example this poor boy with a funky primered body kit brought his V6 Stang to the track with his chrome wheels and was pulling mid 11s (1/8 runs that is :rolleyes ). Needless to say my Stanza ran faster than that all STOCK hehe. I felt bad for him but it made for a good laugh.

My old Ghia convertible with 2150cc and lathe-turned and widened stock rear wheels probably ran in the high 13's or low 14's. NOT the car to drive across town... What a POS it was. All engine, ratty interior, no top, beat to hell...

I wouldn't doubt the Beetle comment - Have seen some that run 13's that look relatively harmless. It's stopping (and turning) that's the challenge.
