This is a nice clean stock Q.

I wonder if the buyer is a NICO member.

that car has had 4-5 owners, moved from torrance, cali to okalahoma to several cities in texas than back to okalahoma. WOW! glad my carfax acct still works. carfax shows that it has a clean title. it went for only 3050.00. even though kbb is not accurate it shows that it is only worth 3400 at good condition. not bad, it would've been more here in cali. like 3800-3900. what a zip code difference...

Am I the only one scared by the number and price of cars on ebay out of the state of Texas?

I think I remember something on 20/20 or PrimeTime about the 'lax title laws, but I could be wrong.

You are definitely right. Also, their tags and taxes are extremely cheap. People in Kansas go down there all the time to get their cars registered.

How?

I would assume you have to own some land or rent a place down there for this to work correct?

I moved to Wichita from San Antonio and know several friends down there. If there is a way to do this I want to know, because the cost of Kansas Insurance, coupled with the vehicle property tax is absolute rape. (293.62 for a 1999 Jeep,567.43 for a 2001 Seville,372 for a 2000 Infiniti). If it was Cali or Vermont or something Id understand, but its KANSAS. If I wasnt making the money I do here id be gone in a heartbeat. On the other side of the coin however, housing costs are very very good here. Grrr...

I lived in Florida for a short while and with No fault insurance, and tags at 50 bucks a year,it was great!:ylsuper

I don't know the exact specifics on registration but I'll happy to get that information for you. I know a couple people I can ask. Also, I see that you're from Wichita and looking at a QX4. Go to Steven Infiniti at Kellogg & Greenwich (SE corner) and talk to them. Very nice people to work with for the most part. Henry in service is awesome.

Thanks, thats really cool of you to check.

Actually,im working with Brandon Steven right now on a 00 QX4 in perfect condition. The reason I joined this forum is because I wanted to know if i could retrofit the lights from a 2k1 to this 2000,because otherwise its a great deal and I like it alot. I checked Steven Infiniti and unfortunately all they have right now is a used pathfinder :( .

Hint: Brandon Steven ALWAYS marks up their cars higher than most so work em. Also, try to work them against another dealership in town...they bend a lot easier that way. That was how my dad got his 99 camry xle v6 w/ 16k for only $14,200. :)

I've had mine for sale since February and no one has even come to see it! The market for Qs in SoCal has gone to nothing as far as I can tell. I think $3900 for a clean, straight dealer maint. '91 with 117k on the ticker is a good deal, but judging by the interest I have seen, guess not. I hate the idea of trading it in, but I'm just about at my wits end. Anyway, just venting.

Yes and no. I placed when I first put it on the market but can't seem to get my digi cam to work. Maybe I'll repost and keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for the advice!

Hey Fred! I know, I've been gone for a quite a while. Between two moves, a job change, and school in the evenings things have been a bit harried the last few months. I hate to admit it, but I also spent some time on a couple of Honda forums,(I know, I know, what was I thinking?), but I'm back to stay now.

Why am I selling the Q? Well, a few reasons really, but honestly the most important is I am going through a severe case of 5-speed withdrawl. While I adore my Q, it is the only car that I have ever owned with an automatic, as well as the only one nearly as heavy. I bought the Q for work, as I was l working 2 days a week in San Diego and 3 in LA, while living halfway in between and I needed a car that wouldn't kill me on the commutes. But now, I have a relatively uneventful 40 minute drive, so I don't really need it. Finally, I really want to get back to autocrossing and that's not gonna happen with the ol' big body.

Another Infiniti? Not right away, but I am keeping it in the family...S13 coupe. They are an excellent value, relatively bulletproof, and given all the people with SR20 fever here in SoCal, engines are practically free, so a high-mile example dosen't worry me too much. I have been itching for a projuect car for a while and just couldn't bring myself to modify the Q. So, for now, it's time for us to part. I will probably regret it later (I still pine for my SE-R on occasion) but it's more practical for me at this point.

Anyway, I'll be around more often now. Good to hear from ya.
