Hello, everybody,
I'm new here, although not all that new to Nissan/Infinity
I have a question and hope somebody can help me figure out way forward:
I recently bought 1999 Infinity I30 for my teenage son. It had 130K on it and ran fine until some yougsters rear-ended it - mostly body damage. I got it fixed and the car runs fine (sort of) but now it has Check/Service Engine Soon light on.
Had Autozone read the codes and they gave me: P0325, P0450, P1446
- so the Evap System which makes sense since it is in the back where the car was hit...
My question is what happens if I just ignore the CEL and continue driving as is:
- first of all: is it safe? Then will it be reliable?
- what will be affected - gas mileage, power, environment, annual inspection, etc?
- How much may it cost to fix it - if it is more than couple hundred $, there's no point in fixing it since the car itself is worth about $3K, maybe $3.5K.
- Can I maybe find a used part that may be needed and use it to save $s: canister, valve, etc - whatever that may be?
Any insight and suggestions will be very much appreciated.
Thank you.
