Btw, the tercel wagons before the last generation aren't small, I compared mine to a corrolla (my second car, not all that bad, just underpowered) and the tercel was the same length, taller, and wider. The crx is much smaller than even the last generation of tercel and provides much better upgrades (think b16)
Hmmm....since you questioned the validity of my comparison, (as did yellows13) I feel obliged to explain my reasoning. Let's play a game of comparison! All specs taken from edmunds.com
1992 Toyota Tercel DX 2 door: (what my friend has)Base Number of Cylinders: 4 Base Engine Size: 1.5 liters Base Engine Type: Inline 4 Horsepower: 82 hp Max Horsepower: 5200 rpm Torque: 89 ft-lbs. Max Torque: 4400 rpm Drive Type: FWD Turning Circle: 31.5 ft. Length: 161.8 in. Width: 64.8 in. Height: 53.2 in. Weight: 1975 lbs. Wheel Base: 93.7 in. Ground Clearance: 5.9 in.
1990 Honda Civic CRXBase Number of Cylinders: 4 Base Engine Size: 1.5 liters Base Engine Type: Inline 4 Horsepower: 92 hp Max Horsepower: 6000 rpm Torque: 89 ft-lbs. Max Torque: 4500 rpm Drive Type: FWD Turning Circle: 30.4 ft. Length: 148.5 in. Width: 65.9 in. Height: 50.1 in. Weight: 2103 lbs. Wheel Base: 90.6 in.
Hmm....lets see here...the civic weighs 128 lbs more than the Tercel, and has 10 more horsepower, and the same amount of torque at the same RPM...looks to me like they're almost spitting images of eachother, almost the same weight, horsepower, engine size, etc. While the CRX looks better than the Tercel, stock for stock, the performance of the engine, and the weight of the cars, is almost identical. Do two cars that weigh the same, have similar dimensions, the same size engine, and very similar power output warrant comparison? I certainly think so...
To yellows13---Boxy cars never really appealed to me, I don't think any boxy car looks good, and if a boxy car did look good, it wouldn't be the CRX or the Tercel.
Eventhe Si model of the CRX, while significantly better than the base CRX/base Tercel, only has 25 more hp than the Tercel, and gets all of its torque at 5000 RPM, not 4400 RPM like the Tercel...
I'm surprised anyone posted that CRX on this forum in the first place...not many people here like any honda civics, no matter how "fast" they are. Why not put up a nice picture of an S13 or and S14 or and S15, cars that look as good as they drive?
