just taking apart my timing chain tensioners and others stuff and thought i would post a pic of how stupid nissan was for putting a plastic chain guide in a motor.

this is both the tensioner and guide that were replaced with nissan's newer metal parts. so if you are starting to hear that famous ticking comming from your valve cover its probably theses.

i know... how stupid of them to put plastic parts that will be in contact with metal... WTF.

But at least you got it out and replaced with new ones. Gotta love that feeling when things like that get done.

are the timing tensioners plastic in an s14 also?

Yes, although they'll still have plastic on them, just they're metal backed now.
