Lip looks good to me. A smart application and it looks spot on.Black or white doesn't matter.

hehe i did my zenki a while ago.. theres another long thread i was following where i got hte idea from though

its a hot lip, and i got some aluminum strips and double sided taped them on the back to reinforce them, that way the lip doesnt bend on the freeway and actually does what its supposed to do : )

My lowe's lip that I made today. Needs to be attached better. Right side broke off when I backed out of my driveway because it dragged. Never park there anyways. Looks ok.

^^ i guess u used the same stuff that i did. what u shuold have done is folded it and screwed it from underneath the bumper like me, so u cant see the screwes or whatever u used. looks a lot cleaner.

Not really sure what you mean by folding it and drilling it in from underneath. The stuff I used has a complete loop at the bottom edge, and seems too thick to fold without buckling. I am pretty sure that I am going to take it off, because it will no doubt get torn off when I hit cones at drifting events.

well, what i did is cut part of it off. then folded it with pliars and cut triangle in it so it easily wraps around without buckling. then i i used wood screws. the thing wont fall off. my bumper fell off and didnt do anything to the lip. but my bumper is also ziptied and this was at an autox where i was going a lil faster and hit the cone staright on. i will take some pics of what i am talkin about when i come back from my trip.

I took the hd lip off and repainted my se lip. I like it much better, its not as low to the ground.

WOW this is an awsome idea. I wish I would have came accross it when I had my S14? I have a 91 S13 coupe now and I tried my hand at the Home Depot lip and it turned out great!!!!!! I had to slide in some thin gauge metal L brackets to provide support for the soft floppy rubber molding and it worked great too.

I just bought some thin metal 2x4 straps and cut them into smaller strips then hand bent them on my condo's staircase hand rail to make the L shaped bracket.

Then I just slipped a bunch of these brackets in between the stock lip and front bumper for support. Didnt even need to screw them in since they are wedged in there pretty tight and will be held in place with the lip once the lip is screwed into the stock lip.

Then I cut the molding to length. Pre drilled pilot holes to reduce the chacnces of cracking the stock lip. Using auto body molding screws from autozone I screwed one end in, peeled off the paper to expose the adhesive on the back of the molding. Pushed and stretched the molding accross the stock lip and L brackets I made. Then drilled and screwed in the other side of the lip and checked alignment. I would say for best results to use apoxy on the L brackets. The molding will not come off those metal brackets!!!!

I didnt even do the fold under technique to hide the screws and it still looks good! I think the secret is to use wide head body molding screws. (steal them from junk yards if you are cheap like me) Regular wood screws tend to leave dimple type attachment points that look ghetto.

All parts cost me less than $20 and less than 30 minutes to put on.

I think this is the best lip for me mostly because I tend to scratch my front end on high angle driveways and the horrible bay area roads. (pot holes and dips) Now I still look good and I dont feel bad scrapping the hell out of my lip. Try feeling that way with a $200 lip????

here are some pics of my project!!!!! enjoy!!!!!!!!!
