I bought a 93' hach from the junky yard knowing it had a bad engine 375$, I was hoping it wouldnt be this bad but the upper timing chain was broke, the exhaust cam was broke, cam journals f'd, head done for. Today I took the front cover off to find a HUGE hole in the water passage is this normal for front cover failures? Seems extreme to me, whoever had this thing let it run along time with a engine full of water. I have never looked at rod bearings before how do these look? they look soso to me.

The car already has a fresher KA swapped in but I was hopping to save the block on this one basicly because I dont like getting rid of good stuff.

The good news!! a new to me very low rust, no accident, running 240 for under 500$ I already had a spare ka at hand. Plans are daily driver to go along with my SR powered coupe. Long term it would look good as a drag car with rb25.

Hmm... I think it'd be a waste of time trying to salvage engine parts from that engine. Who ever had it last, sure messed it up good. I'd throw in your other KA, maybe rebuild it.
