What kind of tires are those?relentless16 wrote:I just obtained my 2006 m45 a couple weeks ago.
Had one bent rim and major curb rashes on 3 of the 4 rims, so instead of replacing them, I had them all refinished in hypersilver for 1/2 the price of one replacement rim!
They look brand new now. Do you guys think the colour looks good?
Well Then I won't be buying those. That is my problem now. My Hankook Sport Ventus K104s are too loud now.relentless16 wrote:M35 Sport: The tires are: BF Goodrich G-Force TA
Here's the writeup on them: http://www.bfgoodrichtires.ca/....html
Pros: They handle amazing on both wet and dry. I take corners and on/off ramps at high speeds with no problems at all.
Cons: They are SUPER LOUD. But it's okay for me, cuz i'm usually blasting my tunes while driving anyway!
I hear that those Yoko S Drive tires are super quiet. I think I will be going with these myself.M35 Sport wrote:

Good question. Looking to learn this myself. I have been really digging to turn up info in this regard (M OEM wheels in general). Will post here as soon as I know more.M35 Sport wrote:On a side note. Does anyone have the closet matching paint code for the OEM 19" wheel paint? I know someone said it is lead based paint that is not available in the US but is there anything close?
Yeah I found this website myself when researching the issue. If any of my wheels ever get unbearably beat and strached up, I will go here. Right now I just have a few small nicks I would like to touch up. This is the first car I have had where the tires don't protect the wheel. Hopefully my next set of tires will have more curb protection. I am thinking about getting these. I need a nice all season tire.Allosaur wrote:

I am thinking I will swap my 2006 (base) 8 spoke wheels for 2008/2009 OEM 19" sport wheels which, at least to this vendor linked below, seem to come in the hyper silver (as relentess16 painted his 2006) as opposed to hyper black from the previous version (though this vendor titles the previous version hyper silver as well). I was hoping Enkei made this in a 20" which I could order aftermarket.
I found a great price on new ones with that vendor:

Perhaps they know the exact color sharing the previous version, too:

The 2008/2009 19"s sure look like hyper silver (and not hyper black) to me.
Perhaps relentless16 is onto something.
I am new to Infiniti and although I have had wheels get scratched before (with my Benz, even at automatic carwashes while out of town), since I have been studying the M series, I have noticed a rather large percentage of wheel defacing and nicks on the OEM (especially the 19") upon almost every M I see.M35 Sport wrote:This is the first car I have had where the tires don't protect the wheel. Isn't that funny. I bought my car (used) about 6 weeks ago. It originally came from florida. Yes I have looked at that site. Discount tire is where I go to have my wheel and tire work done. They don't have the Kuhmo Platinum all seasons. They just have the Summer version. I will probably just buy what I want from tire rack (have done it before) and have discount tire put them on.Allosaur wrote:

Now that I'm looking at the car more closely, each time I see one parked I look for this. Would you believe that more than 90% of these wheels have some scarring of some sort? Perhaps they're fragile? To make sure this was not so common elsewhere with other makes, I started studying every (luxury/sports sedan) akin vehicle I get near and looked for the same. Regrettably, the percentage is higher with these OEM Enkei wheels on the M. (Strangely.) I may just go aftermarket with a 20" wheel that looks similar to OEM (TSW Modello is one example).
On your tire search, indeed you have to make an informed choice given your driving style and weather conditions in your area. I live in Fort Lauderdale so summer tires only for me. The tire you link is not listed from the source where I typically buy tires, but I saw the reviews on tire rack.
Do you ever research this site?
