Check enigne Light Help plz.....

Ok.. my check engine light does Not come on for the Split Second when u turn the Car.. It was on earlier today because my battery was bad(got a new battery) 5 min later after turning on the car the Check enigne light turned off.. So i went to get it Smogged they said they cant smog because my check engine light doesnt turn on when in the On postion or when u turn the ignition on.. So it would Auto Fail because of the new System Smog Shops Have...

When i left the Smog Shop on he way home the Light Turned on and off twice then turned off..

So if anyone has any ideas plz inform me..

Invest in a cheap code scanner from Harbor Freight. Go from there.

haha thanx.. but i think i found the problem... when i went to the shop to get it reset.. they restted the ecu from the little switch on the side of the ecu where u have to turn it witha flathead screw driver... the problem was it was turned the way to the Right(clockwise) when it was sapposed to be set all the way to the left(counter-clockwise).. So i resetted it then Bingo!*... Check engine light Turn's On when the key is in the On postion then turns off when fully Turning the key to start the Car(engine)..

Now i Need the Spec for Installing the Outer Tie Rod ends and Bellows boots... ill put it in another Forum..
