What the heck is this? My rogue is only 5 weeks old and I need to check it so soon? My used 3.5 old Altima never gave me these wierd messages. What's going on? Did I got a lemon?

Make sure first that your gas cap is on and tight. There may be some other things to also check before taking to the dealer, but the gas cap is a big culprit.

do this: take off the gas cap, retighten it and then wait several start/restart cycles...if it's the gas cap, then this should fix it

A leaking or improperly tightened gas cap will indeed trigger the CEL light. You can try re-tightening the cap, then drive 2-5 days. The test used to check for fuel system leaks can only be done under certain conditions and it may some time before it clears.

There is a Rogue specific TSB that deals with a fuel system issue. If it does not clear, this could be your problem:

NTB08037 - SB 08 Rogue; MIL Light On DTC P0463IF YOU CONFIRM DTC P0463 (Fuel Level Sensor Circuit High Input) is stored in the ECM and there are no other vehicle driveability symptoms, ACTIONS: Confirm this bulletin applies. Check and compare your Current ECM Part Number to Table A on page 3. If that part number does not match one in Table A, this bulletin does not apply. Go back to ASIST for further diagnostic and repair information. See this bulletin for further detail.

Mine did the same thing, I tightened the cap (damn NJ turnpike gas monkeys) and turned the CES light off with my code scanner, hasn't returned (Code P0442 Small evap system leak).

Well, today I went to visit the dealer. After an hour of diagnosis, this guy explained to me that he download the latest software that fixed the algorithm that calculates how it keeps tracks of fuel. Kinda looks like a bug in the software. So, it is just a software fix!

There was a tech bulletin from Nissan in regards to this:

Sorry I don't have the full bulletin, just the condensed version from Nissan Tech Info.
