hello,I have Maxima 2000 and it has 160 K, The light "check engine soon" is on for a while. I comes up and in a couple months goes away. Today I went to get a sticker. Before that I disconnected battery ( I thought that way my 'light' will go away ) and definitely 'light' is off. But I was rejected at inspection because they couldn't check car's computer ( after battery disconnecting ) and said me to come in a week. I'm suspicious that 'light' will come up again sooner than I'll go back to them.My questions:1. How could I temporarily "trick" the 'light' ?2. Will using fuel injection system cleaning or other additives help in my situation?3. May I remove and clean oxygen sensor? ( If 'yes' .. how can I do ? )4. Any other work around would be helpful because I can't spend much money on 8 year old car. Thanks in advance.

go to a parts tore that will read the code for you and we can work from there - hard to say what's wrong without it. i've heard that as a temporary fix for the o2 you can let it sit in rubbing alcohol and supposedly that cleans it a bit - haven't tried it myself though.
