Check engine on

My check engine start on and off some time ago.I bought this car used and previous owner said that gas gauge is the problem.Now I have the problem with gas reading.When I fill up, it will show on the full line but after it goes down to 2/3 approaching 1/2, it drop straight to empty (yellow light on) but I know that the tank is half empty.Do you know what is the problem?How much is the cost to fix gas gauge?Thanks

Check with scanner and found out that fuel lever high circuit acting up.Do you know how much does it cost to fix this problem?Is it common problem on Pathfinder?

never heard of anybody with this problem, but theres a lot of detailed info on how to check/replace components of the fuel gauge, in the FSM for your car http://www.phatg20.net/compone...id,31/ i believe you need winrar or winzip to unload the file (i forgot which one)
