Ok, for those of you with non California vehicles, you can wire up your check engine light pretty easily :-)

All you need to do, is pull your gauge cluster, and put lights in the 2 empty spots...

next, where the ECU is, there is that white connector that has the blue/black wire and so on for temp gauge and all..

There is a red wire.. ill get the pin later... if you put power to that, the check engine light comes on :-)

So, following this fact, I am wondering if pin 32 (monitor and check lamp (red)) is the check engine light on the rb20det ecu.. if so, connecting the 2 wires should work - right?

Dude! I need to have my check engine on when I start my car for inspections! Otherwise I'll fail. You know how check engine light and all the other lights turn on? Well thats what I need. Then for the light to turn off after like 3 secs.

Is this what your trying to figure out?

I just want it to work, period...

in the S13 the red wire, when it gets voltage then it will come on....

I am trying to figure out if pin32 is for the check engine light, which I think it is....

Anyway, for your case, I would wire up a relay or something for it to come on for a few seconds and then turn off...

I wish the Nissan dealership over here knows what a RB engine is. Instead they look at me and think Im talking about another make.

It was pin 32....

47 is probably an activator to enable checking of codes without pulling the ecu... gotta figure out how that wire works though...

pin 32 will mimick the ecu light.. stays off until fuel is primed, then turns on.. not sure about when the car is running yet though..

Seriously, huh? Hmm that was the only thing stopping me from getting emissions done When my friend went to get his emissions he failed cause of Check Engine Light on. I'll try next year and if I fail you owe me a six pack of any beer lol.

If you do not have a CA version 240sx, you do not have a check engine light :-)

I say wiring up a consult port is more important then this...and in the s14 I am 99% sure the 32 pin on the 20's ecu goes to A orange wire on the f3 plug.
