Check Engine Light ?

So my check engine light came on last night after I push to turn the car off, but all the electrics went off and the car was still running. Then I pressed the button again and the car shut off. When I pressed the start button again, everything was back to normal except a service engine soon light.
I just went to O Reileys and they told me I’m low on brake fluid and the Hvac module and something else is having a communication problem ????
Does anyone know what this is ?

Please post whatever codes OReilly was able to see. These are typically a letter followed by 4 digits, e.g. P0507 or U#### or B#### or C####
Once we see what the codes are, we shall be in better shape to diagnose the issue.
But, how old is your car battery?

On a related note, I'll tell you electronics can be finicky. One year ago, I pushed the button to turn my 2008 M off. The engine shut off but the center display stayed on and lit. I pushed it to start the car again, then turned it off and everything was normal. No check engine light, no further issues ever since.

He didn’t give me the code, just told me what was wrong . But I reset my car and the light hasn’t came back on so ‍♂️
Hopefully it stays that way and it just needed a reset
