i bought my 96 hardbody with 160k miles. 5 speed. it has a check engine light on so i brought it to my buddy at his toyota dealership to run the obd2 tester thing. we got codes 440 442 and 446. he dont know about nissans so he cant really help me... we think maybe its somethin to do with the emmissions BS. maybe the gas cap lol

anyone know whats bad on my truck? id like to make this light go away for good. thanks!!

its the sohc ka24e... stock everything except i just put on some rims... i run 87 in it.

Those are all evap system codes. I would check your vent control valve, the evap canister and all evap vaccum lines for cracks or breaks.

Don't forget also check your gas cap make sure it is installed correctly and the seal is not damaged.

sorry i got the codes wrong. theyre 400 440 and 446. i just put a new gas cap on and the code still comes back. i was gonna put another charcoal canister thing on but i cant even find one in the engine bay

The evap canister is under the bed on D21U's.The vent control valve is mounted to it.
