I know the possible problems with the check engine light but does anyone have any advice to were I should start?? I had my light come and go a few times since I have bought the car. I disconnected the battery like the FSM says to reset the ECU. It has been fine for about a week now and popped on again this morning!! Thank you for any help or insite! Maybe I should start with some sensors??

go to auto zone and have them use a scan tool to find out why your car is throwing a check engine light specifically

ahhh... there testing bs thing will work? lol I'll do that if the light is still on after I reset the ecu or if it comes back on! thanks! I'm also going to clean some sensors and check the O2 one as well. Also, the piece of intake that the person before me put on, looks dirty as well.. the cone (lil mushroom one) is dirty.

and the funny thing is, it's running better than its every had... except that stupid light! Also, I think someone used to put the wrong gas in it too! I got it back on a premium diet!

what do you mean wrong type of gas? all gas is unleaded now at the pump? yo just check the ECU for codes. if you clear the code and it comes back it needs to be fixed. it's not gonna fix it's self. checken' it should only take 5 min. @ the most

s-13 240's are OBDI which few places still carry scanners for. Actually a lot of OBDI systems will give you blink codes through the check engine light without the use of a scan tool. You would have to look it up, but it will involve jumping two wires on the DRL or cycling the ignition.

I just meant I didn't know if the previous owner was using the cheap gas or the expensive gas.... lol I need to check the ECU and see what the blinking lights tell me! I will hopefully do that soon! I have read the FSM and it gives you a pretty good idea on what to do to perform a self dia. This is the fun being in California because even in the manual it says that the check engine light is a California exclusive. Runs fine, but more polution! hahaha I'll keep you updated!
