check engine light question

ok i got a question, and this is the only place i know that might get a response back. so to start here's a little background.

I installed my headers in my sedan back in the summer around august or so, my friend did the install himself and did only the main part, no cutting, no nothing, and everything fit just fine and great. After everything was put back together, i was able to drive it without the CEL turning on for a solid 700 miles.

After 700 mile though the CEL came on and stayed on until today. Didn't know how to fix it, was thinking of cutting and fitting in the adapter piece, then the spacer idea came in, but never really had the time to ever do any of it.

Any who onto the main reason for this thread, My CEL has been on for about 2.5months, and then today out of the blue, the CEL turned off in my car. My question is should i be concerned that the CEL turned off by itself or be happy that its a blessing in disgusie.

Mine you i didn't do anything different to the headers, haven't changed anything, nor done anything else to the car since.

Anyone who can shed light on this it would be greatly appreciate, loving the nico family and how informative everyone can be.

last time when my cel came in from my header it was set off from the o2 sensor, but nothing was wrong with it. i had my mechanic shop take care of it and they said they just reset it. it recently just popped on and i'll probably have them take it off again. i tried with my bullydog tuner but it wouldn't let me

@ devilmagic, i've read your post regarding the spacer and all, what i'm asking is that for the past 2.5 months, the CEL has been on, but then today it was just off and hasn't come on since. Don't know if thats just a fluke or what, so i want to know should i be concerned about it or not that it just randomly turned itself off?

oh that im not sure about. Most people encounter with CEL turning back on lol not turn off. I suppose if its off then its a good thing right?

@devilmagic, yeah that what im wondering, but yeah might be a good thing no idea so listening carefully as i drive for next few days and see whats up

@infiniti_lineup, how would i get go about getting all the codes? go to the dealership or just search? lol, but who knows hoping for the best.

yeah....im just gonna live with it as it is haha. hasnt come back on, and nothing seems wrong. so hoping for the best haha

well as i was driving the cel came back on.....this is sooo weird. driving me nuts....but gonna live with it until i wanna go see the stealership lol
